So I'm guessing this makes your a courtroom stenographer or similar(considering the username)? If not, that's a very strange day!
Is anyone planning on chat this week? - I might plan to stay up again.
You are correct, sir! Though you don't actually win anything. Sorry. I am a courtroom stenographer sans courtroom. I do all the depo work leading up to the trial, but then a state/federal employee court reporter takes over at the courthouse. When I first started steno school my goal was to do a court reporter swap and go over to London for a year to work. About 20 seconds after I made that goal I met my future husband and that was 16 years ago now. Is that one of those situations where you win some you lose some, or is it more like win/win?
My goal is to attend chat this week. Jeri is just going to be coming back from a few days away for some training in geothermal stuff so I might get distracted getting him fed and his clothes going in the washer and all those things that go on after you've been away for a bit. I do have an alarm set on my calendar though.
The following has nothing to do with anything:
I have recently discovered that there is a Hello Kitty plane. I know, right!!!! I really feel that my life probably will not be complete until I fly on it. The boarding passes even have Hello Kitty on them. There's Hello Kitty pillows and Hello Kitty food and even Hello Kitty TP (which actually is a little gross.) Anyway, they pretty much fly to Taiwan from LAX as far as routes I would possibly have a sliver of a reason to fly. So I'm thinking LAX to Taiwan to Tokyo Disney! Excellent plan!!!! Yeah, there are some snags from the is she crazy angle, but, HELLO, HELLO KITTY! If it were Choco Cat the tickets would already be booked. Just saying. Choco Cat rulz!
Which the discovery of the Hello Kitty plane leads me weirdly into the next thing. I discover the plane (get way too excited) start searching the web for Disney Tokyo blogs/trip reports, find one with awesome photos (love me some photos) and settle in to basically waste an entire Saturday reading about Japan, get done with that (really want to go bad now) and start surfing around the rest of this guy's blog and see that he and his wife went to
Disneyland for Christmas a few years ago so I start reading that 1)because I want to know what kind of layering I'll need to be doing so I'm basically stalking his wife to see what she's wearing every day and 2)because I really need to clean up the house and get some work done and this is some great procrastination.
So at the end of their vacation they do the Disneyland tour of holiday decorations and I have to say it seems pretty cool. Plus, a nice way to avoid some of the crowds that are always there during the holidays. Then he says he and his wife met this really cool person on their tour and they really hit it off and enjoyed meeting her and here is this photo of his wife with her. And I TOTALLY KNOW HER!!! What are the odds?!?! Her name is Heather, she's a Dis'er and I've been on a couple of ABDs with her now. And these people's blog has even more validity for me now because they said she was cool and I know she's cool so, ergo, I must go to Tokyo Disney!
What? You don't see the connection? Anyway, I call Jeri back to the office and show him the photo, and he said it's kind of like Where's Waldo but with Heather. What a great idea! I would totally play that game.
To try to bring this back around to topic (it's hard but watch me work my magic) Heather was supposed to go on our trip with us here in a bit but had to cancel for some family stuff, so it's sad you all are going to miss meeting her and seeing her awesome photos, but family first and all that! And also I'm kind of digging the idea of the holiday tour. We're staying an extra day after our Adventure so I'm wondering if a specific holiday tour will point out some things that we don't cover and help us navigate the crowds a bit better outside the
ABD bubble. Plus, there's a nice pin, and who doesn't love that?
