Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2023 Edition

When do the Christmas decos usually stay up til in the parks?
We were down last year for 2 weeks in mid January. We arrived on Marathon Sunday, January 9th. All the decorations were still up at MK and Fort Wilderness. Monday, the 10th, over half of decorations were down across the parks and by Wednesday morning, no trace anywhere.

Thank you!

if anyone was wondering, yes the kids had a blast. 8-) 1st plane ride, 1st disney experience, 1st roller coaster, 1st 2nd and 3rd time riding Pirates, 1st time seeing an audio-animatronic and wondering if it can see us... lots and lots of firsts happened in that 24hrs. plus possibly may have set a record for the shortest dedicated Disney World family vacation for an out-of-stater. lololol (meaning not including people just passing through).

next time I need more time...

a big thanks to Disney for allowing reassigning of party tix :)

What’s New on Disney+ in November

Loki is continuing his mischief as Season 2 of the Marvel Studios series continues through November, airing every Thursday at 6 p.m. PT… it follows along as Loki (Tom Hiddleston) navigates the multiverse in search of Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), Judge Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), Miss Minutes (voiced by Tara Strong), and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose. While the season finale airs November 9, the Loki content doesn’t stop there: Assembled: The Making of Loki Season 2premieres November 29, in which viewers will discover how the talented team that powered the second season of the series raised the stakes for this latest Marvel Cinematic Universe adventure, via interviews and exclusive on-set footage.

Meanwhile, Behind the Attraction Season 2 will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at Disney… but not of a series. Rather, viewers will take a proverbial ride through the stories behind Disney Parks’ most iconic and beloved attractions. All episodes will premiere on November 1.

Marvel Studios Legends will release new episodes on Friday, November 3, centering on the stories of Carol Danvers, Kamala Khan, and Monica Rambeau—the trio soon to be seen in The Marvels.

And with December just over the horizon, several holiday films and shows will be released: Dashing Through the Snow, premiering Friday, November 17, follows Eddie Garrick (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges), a good-hearted man who has lost his belief in the wonder of Christmas. While spending time with his nine-year-old daughter Charlotte (Madison Skye Validum) on Christmas Eve, however, he befriends a mysterious man in a red suit named Nick (Lil Rel Howery). In The Naughty Nine, releasing Thursday, November 23, a mischievous fifth grader, Andy (Winslow Fegley), finds himself without a present from Santa on Christmas morning and pulls together a team of eight other “naughty listers” to help him execute an elaborate heist in Santa’s Village at the North Pole to get the presents they feel they deserve.

The Santa Clauses Season 2, follows Scott Calvin (Disney Legend Tim Allen)—who, after 28 years, reigns true as Santa Claus—as he continues to contend with a changing world to keep the spirit of Christmas alive for a new generation. Eric Stonestreet guest stars as Magnus Antas, aka the Mad Santa, who was in charge of the North Pole in the 14th century. The new season premieres with two episodes on Wednesday, November 8 and a new episode will be released every Wednesday that follows.

The Three Detectives, a film about three BFFs who have their very own detective club, will premiere on Wednesday, November 1.

Goosebumps, inspired by R.L. Stine’s worldwide bestselling books, follows a group of five high schoolers as they embark on a journey to investigate the tragic passing (three decades earlier) of a teen named Harold Biddle—all while unearthing dark secrets from their parents’ past—will continue to air Fridays, with a November 17 season finale.

Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars will see its celebrity contestants and their pro dance partners continue cha-cha’ing through the month of November, with new episodes airing live on Tuesdays in your respective time zones on Disney+ and ABC, and the next day on Hulu.

Great, just what I needed, MORE great food at Disney Springs. Sometimes I want to pull a double and have two lunches there just so I can fit in another spot. I can have an Earl of Sandwich and a D'Luxe Burger, right? 😁

This looks good!

Disney Cruise Line Sets Sail in Australia for the First Time

The Disney Wonder is officially down under!

Disney Cruise Line will mark another incredible milestone on Oct. 28 when the Disney Wonder sets sail from the shores of Australia for the first time ever, embarking on the inaugural “Disney Magic at Sea” cruise for families in Australia and New Zealand. These two-night to six-night special Disney Cruise sailings continue through February 2024 and allow guests to experience the magic of Disney right in their backyard, with cruises departing from four different home ports: Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand.

Guests will be immersed in their favorite Disney stories during the “Disney Magic at Sea” cruises, with activities and spaces for everyone in the family to enjoy, including the imaginative dining and world-class entertainment that Disney Cruise Line is known for. New versions of the “Heroes Unite” deck party and “Crush’s Totally Awesome Pool Party,” as well as special character encounters including Moana’s first appearance on the high seas will allow guests to experience Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars stories and characters in new ways.

We’re also excited about the return of Disney Cruise Line to Australia and New Zealand in the fall of 2024 for a second season of vacations, with departures running from October 2004 to February 2025! On its way back to Australia, the Disney Wonder will first embark on a set of bucket-list itineraries, sailing from Vancouver, Canada, to Honolulu, Hawaii, in late September 2024 with stops on the islands of Kauai, Maui, Hawaii and Oahu. From Hawaii, families will set sail on a transpacific voyage to Sydney, Australia, that will visit once-in-a-lifetime destinations such as Fiji, American Samoa and New Caledonia.

The arrival into Australia is another part of Disney Cruise Line’s unprecedented expansion. With three new ships planned through 2025 and exciting new itineraries around the world, we are thrilled to bring Disney magic at sea to families across the globe for the first time.

We hope to see ya real soon!

Lack of mobile order was one of my biggest negatives of my visits so this is great news! I had to wait an hour for lunch at Disneysea and would rather....not have to do that.

Wow that’s surprising Dec 16th sold out already.

We were going to watch the first couple parties before buying. TripAdvisor had 20% off so we bought tickets. Good thing because that’s the only night that works well for us. I wonder if they’ll add dates mid-Dec if more sell out.
I think it's very doubtful that they would add more December dates for Jollywood Nights. They've listed DHS as closing at 8:00 on all the nights for those parties. They've already posted 9:00 closings for all the nights that don't have parties (except December 10, which closes at 7:00; I presume that's for a private or cast member event). I don't think they want to change any of those closing times from 9:00 to 8:00. Disney very seldom reduces park hours. And I especially don't think they want to shorten the time that day guests can stay in the park this late. It's less than 60 days away. Also, WDW has a party scheduled every night from December 14-22, either MVMCP or Jollywood Nights. I don't think they want to have two parties on the same night, even if they are at different parks.
