Dream CAME true! June 21-26, 2011 TR w/LOTS of pics! Update 8/1 Day 6, Part 4

Lesha, awesome trip report! I just had to comment because I was lurking on this TR some time ago, and then the picture problem happened, and you said something about the lurkers needing to come out and say hi :) Well that forced me to make an account, but I lost track of your TR so wasn't able to finish it. I finally found it again yesterday and read the whole thing! You are fantastic! So nice to see pics of Remy and parasailing, both things we plan to do. Can't wait to hear about the MR cruise. I've been looking at that one and trying to figure out when I could get it on the itinerary.

I'm so glad you had a nice time. What wineries did you go to? What bottles did you buy? You have to start somewhere, a case at a time is a good way to start. Just don't drink it all before you get the next case! :rotfl2:

In about 20 minutes, we are heading out for yet another trip to Tulare! And then back again tomorrow!

Oh gosh, I can only remember some of the wineries: Pear Valley, Wildhorse, Meridian, Bianchi, San Antonio, Pomar Junction, Cass, and a few others I know i'm missing.

My brother and I split a case of a great Cab that we tasted at one of the wineries not listed above (i'm terrible at remembering names) so that made it cheaper :thumbsup2

How was your trip over here?

Wow, sounds like a party!! Can I come?! :lmao:

Our trip was awesome, beautiful weather, can't say one bad thing! Now time to plan for WDW next summer...but first, DH and I are going on our very first weekend trip without the kids since we had kids. Our 10th anniversary is coming up on November 18th. We are off Friday, Nov. 11th for Veterans Day. So, we are leaving that morning for Foxwoods (casino resort in Connecticut, not too far from home) and staying for 2 nights! The boys are going to stay with my sister. She has been saying for a few years now that we should go away for a weekend and she would watch the boys. So, we decided that now it is time...[/QUOTE

Oh yeah, and guess what? I ended up buying a Tinkerbell watch on the cruise!! Since one of our ports was Port Canaveral, FL, they had a lot of Disney stuff in the gift shop on the ship. DH bought himself a very nice Mickey watch and I got a Tinkerbell one! They were $20 each, a good deal, and a great souvenir! :goodvibes

I'm reading your TR and am loving it! I need to make a username so I can reply to it...

Your first trip without the kids?! You guys are going to have an awesome time! I think that's one thing i'm going to miss when we start having kids...

Hey that's a good deal on a watch! I need to get me some Disney jewelry! :woohoo:

Sounds like you had an amazing trip! Thanks for sharing it with us all :goodvibes

Thanks Monica! I had an amazing trip and looking forward to the next one! :)

Thank you for sharing. It was great to see a trip report from a child-free vacation. My son would NEVER allow that :rotfl: as he explained to me 20 times while reading your report ;)

:rotfl2: How HILARIOUS! Maybe one day you can take a child-free vacation?!

I'm glad you came out to say hello! :cool1: And I so hope you'll follow me over to my next TR, which I should be doing pretty soon!

You have quite a few awesome trips coming up, as I can see in your ticker! Definitely jealous! ;)

So I'm trying to come up with a name for my next TR, but can't think of anything good.

DH suggested something with, A Baby Making TR :lmao: But I wasn't sure about the rules.

What do you guys think?!

How about "A Trip for a *S*P*E*C*I*A*L* Souvenir". :rotfl2:

Hey, no fair, you beat me to it! :lmao:

Leshaface, you should definitely make a username on CC and reply to my TR! A lot of people read it but don't comment. I'm having fun writing it! Today I added 2 more installments, about our day on the ship when we were docked at the private island...I did one installment about my trip with my mom to the spa! :goodvibes

Oh, and plans for our 2012 WDW trip are WELL underway! I will be starting a PTR real soon! We finalized our dates, and we are checking into BWV on July 23, 2012...so I get to book in a week from tomorrow!

As far as missing vacations as a couple...yes, we miss them, but we had also been looking forward to doing family vacations since we got engaged! It is so much fun just to see the looks on kids' faces when they go different places...even just on a day trip to Sesame Place or the aquarium. Taking them to places like Disney is amazing, and they were so adorable on the cruise...my little guy kept saying all week, "This is an awesome vacation!" :rotfl2: But...we are definitely happy to be going away alone for the first time since 2004! ;)

How about "A Trip for a *S*P*E*C*I*A*L* Souvenir". :rotfl2:

:rotfl: I LOVE this! DH does too! What do you think about

"Cruisin' the MR for a SPECIAL Souvenir"

I want to try and incorporate where we're headed to...or maybe get the ship name, Wonder, in their somewhere...

Okay so I went and made a username, but it won't let me reply to your thread? :confused3 Maybe it needs a day for them to review my 'application' :rotfl2: So i'll try to reply tomorrow :goodvibes

You know, your WDW trip is less than a YEAR away!?! Insane! When you do make your TR, please let us know!

I'm sure seeing my kids' smiles on our vacation, will melt away any doubt that I had about taking trips with just DH :)

I wish I could come up with something clever, but I've never been good with stuff like that. Maybe something like 'A Baby Making Good time on the Wonder in Mexico'. I am so excited for you guys getting to go cruising again so soon, that is awesome! Very smart idea to go out of CA rather than FL, with your time schedule the way it is. and of course wonderful when you can save money on flights, that's more money to buy souvenirs with!

I am so obsessed with my vacation it is unreal, five nights on the Dream and 3 nights at AKL. More than six months to go, and I just can't stop thinking about it! It is a sickness! That's why cruise #2 is up there already. I anticipated the cruise blues and just had to book another one so when we get off the boat I know we'll be back shortly. My mind has been wondering lately, 'is there any way to get down to WDW between now and then?' hmmmm, how can I pull this off.....:rotfl:

Make sure, whenever you're going to get off your first cruise, that you're able to take advantage of the 10% off and OBC for your second cruise! :thumbsup2 Maybe they can add it to your existing reservation, or you may have to make another reservation for it, but it's a great deal!

Do you ever drive to WDW?! I WISH I was close enough to drive to WDW. It would take me FOREVER to get there from here :sad2:

Now my first thought was, that is a very good idea, I need to remember to ask them if the 10% off can be applied to the next one, but then my immediate next thought was, if it cant, and it means booking another cruise, I don't see any problem with that! :rotfl2:

We don't drive any more because it only takes 2 1/2 hours to fly vs. over 12 hours to drive. I could be there and back in a weekend, the gears have started whirling :rolleyes1 I really would like to get out to Disneyland in the next couple years, that said I want to see all the Disney parks! I hear Tokyo is amazing!

And don't forget the $100 on board credit! :thumbsup2

Ugh, I would LOVE to visit all the Disney parks someday!

I think Alison aka franandaj is going to try and make it to Tokyo in 2013...SUPER JEALOUS! But you should definitely try and make a trip out here first before you even think about going to Tokyo! ;) Disneyland is THE best place! We're actually going in November for our annual Christmas trip with my mom, DH, DB, and Dsil :cloud9:

I'm doubly jealous now!!! You need a ticker for your November Vacation! I know, I really would like to get to WDL. I love the fact that there are totally different attractions. California Adventure looks so cute with the Bugs Life theme. And Toon Town out there is totally different than it was here. They've taken down WDW Toon Town to make room for the Faeries. We did the Backstage Tour on our past trip, and our tour guide said they were going to 'probably' put Mickey and Minnie's houses somewhere permanently where people could still see them, but the 'probably' makes me quite nervous.

Were you guys able to see the Tron special event in DL? it looked so cool from what we saw advertised.

I know that we hang in very different circles, but you might not want to abbreviate "Mexican Riviera". With the number of gay guys that I hang out with, reread that title as is! :lmao:

Sorry, my first thought had nothing to do with a luxury liner, the Mexican Riviera and least of all a baby!

So far we are still entertaining the idea of Tokyo in 2013, but you're coming down in November again? Our band will be playing one of the first three weekends....maybe we can try for a repeat of you catching our performance :rolleyes1

I hope this year's trip goes better!

I LOVE Bug's Land in California Adventure! That park is completely underrated, IMO. Not a lot of people like or enjoy that park, but I like that it's slower than Disneyland but still very much themed. However, with Toy Story Midway Mania and the new Little Mermaid Ride and Cars Land opening, this park will be INSANELY busy all the time now :headache: Oh well, at least I get to say that i've been to that park before it was popular :lmao:

ElecTRONica is awesome! It's more geared towards the younger crowd, but it was so neat. When you're walking down one of the areas at night, it's really dark, but there is that neon-bluish white color (the color of the TRON title on the DVD cover) covering all the buildings and making weird futuristic sounds. So neat and kind of weird at the same time. There was also a DJ spinning and playing house/techno music and there were a ton of young adults dancing. There were even 'go-go' type dancers! It was great! I hear they're keeping this event through the Spring of next year, so maybe i'll be able to see it again this November!

:rotfl2::rotfl2: You're SOOOO right about that title! Good thing the Tag Fairy hasn't caught me yet! That would make for one HILARIOUS story to tell! :lmao:

I hope you'll be able to go in 2013! That would be a TREMENDOUS TR! Yep! I'm not sure of the EXACT dates yet, but i'm hoping that if it does collide with your performance, i'll be able to make it this time  I keep thinking about how HORRIBLE that last trip was...like, i'm afraid to eat anything in DTD this next time. I was looking back at all my older pictures from family trips, and came across this trip, and you could see how white I looked. It was about an hour before I threw up

We won't know until October what are dates will be. This year I reserved all three Saturdays at the VGC, I hope that I can cancel the nights I don't need in time to get the points back in my account.

Did you decide on a name for your pre-trippie yet? Can't wait to read it. Loved hearing a little about your winery tour. When DH and I flew out to the San Diego area for a business trip a few years ago we stayed at the Rancho San Bernardo Inn. We went on a guided wine tour of the Orfila Vineyards&Winery and a couple others I can't remember. So fun..wish we were closer to the wineries farther north in Cali for that trip..but still fun and very good wine. Our wineries here on the East Coast are still catching up;)

Oh man I'm terrible at coming up with ideas for names but some of the ones suggested already have been great! :lmao:

I'm sure you'll come up with something good. But you better do it soon! You only have a few months to go.......!!!!!

OK, I have an idea for your new PTR/TR...you want to incorporate the destination, ship's name AND your "mission" so here goes:

"Mexican Riviera cruise with WONDERful souvenir in the works" :lmao:

OK, so what do you think of that one? You would incorporate the ship's name and your "mission" at the same time! ;)

And, oh yes, of course I know my Disney trip is less than a year away! Are you kidding? I am counting down the days (7) until I can BOOK the BWV! :rotfl2:

Then comes the countdown for booking ADRs this coming January...then the big trip countdown! Yes, I know...I have issues! ;)

That's a good one Bonnie! No misconstrued abbreviations or double meanings to be taken the wrong way, but conveys the sip and destination! I like it! :thumbsup2
