Where in in FLA/CALI can Canadians get a COVID TEST

Have you successfully used Mears (or any other taxi service) for this express reason? I'm worried that drivers will not want to do this.
At least one other person has posted that they used mears to do the drive through testing. It was near the beginning of one of these testing threads.

In Fl we use a service that comes to us at the house. It’s pricey but so much easier. Well worth it for us.

The city hall is actually not as close to the hotel as i thought it was, so i'll have to do 30 minute of bus to go and might take a uber from there to the park, but it's scheduled for the 25th at 7am. I like how i had the option to write that my native language is French, i don't know if it will change something, but if it does than it's so perfect.
Now, i know it's not the place for this kind of question, but it's still a bit related. Let's say it takes about 30 minutes + 15 minutes to get to the parks. I do have to go to the desk to get the parks tickets if i have a good neighbour hotel right? They don't give it to you at the front desk like a disney hotel, right ? is 15 minutes usually enough at disneyland ?

As promised here's my update from coming back to Canada today!

I had absolutely no issues with coming back to Canada the whole way. I uploaded all my vaccine paperwork and filled out the ArriveCAN app yesterday, so I just made sure to have windows on my phone ready with the receipt from that, my covid test results, and my boarding passes so I could just easily flip through them. They checked my negative covid tests both at the checked in desk before the flight and at customs when I got into Calgary.

As a note my boyfriend was travelling with his covid confirmation and recovery documents from last month when he had a breakthrough case and he also had no issues at all using them coming back.

LAX was kind of intimidating as it seemed super busy and disorganized, but from what I've read that's not out of the ordinary for it. Unfortunately our Westjet flight was delayed for an hour because there was an empty Delta plane that no one was moving out of the way for our plane to dock. I felt bad for us but even worse for the people on board the westjet plane that had to wait on the tarmac for an extra hour for someone to come and move it. 😬 It caused us to miss our connection to Regina, but they put us on the red eye without any issue so we'll still get back tonight, just much later than planned so no big deal.

Overall it went much better than I was prepared for! Again, let me know if anyone has any questions!

Thanks for this, we are planning on going to DLR in November so this is super useful information. I'm curious about the at home test that you have to do once you get back into Canada. Do they make you take it in Calgary before your connecting flight? Or do you just do it when you actually get home? Also, where do you get the test, does the airline give it to you? I'm having a hard time finding this info.

That requirement was actually dropped for people who are fully vaccinated! They now do random testing of fully vaccinated people at the airport when you land, but I wasn't selected for that.

Hi all

I'm going in November and I don't drive, is there any other place near Disney World to get the test like a clinic? Anyone got problems using Mears for the drive-thru at Walgreens or CVS? I don't mind to pay for the test I just don't want any problems to go back home lol

I posted this in another thread, but it should really go here. Also, you can book far out in advance. Right now you can book as far out as Sept 19th.

Fort Lauderdale and Miami Airports:
  • For Rapid RT-PCR test (oral swab), the result will be available within 1 hour.
  • For PCR test, the projected result will be available in 24-48 hours - maximum of 72 hours.
  • For Rapid Antigen test, the expected result will be available within 30 minutes.
  • We offer Rapid RT-PCR for $179, PCR test for $99 and Rapid Antigen test for $69 without state tax.

With the Government of Canada website saying fully vaccinated travellers have to show proof of a negative PCR test done within 72 hours, what does this mean those going on a cruise? We are on a 4 night cruise - so while we we will Get tested before flying to MCO, the rules suggest we will need to get have to get retested while on the actual cruise.

do the cruise lines mandate testing to even allow people to re-enter the US?

This is why I originally cancelled my cruise. Before the mixed vaccine issue I contacted Norwegian to ask about testing and they said they don't offer pcr testing onboard.

If anyone is cruising in the near (or distance) future, I highly recommend you stay abreast to the ever-changing protocols. They are VERY frequent and vary by cruise line.

Don Terris (Don's Family Vacations on youtube) was supposed to be on Carnival Mardi Gras this week, but had to cancel as the cruise line changed their policy on return testing and they would not able to provide this service for him, for free or for purchase.

Royal Caribbean and NCL do return PCR testing for guests who require them to fly (for now):

RCCL:
https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/will-i-have-to-take-a-test-before-i-cruise

While onboard, guests 2 years of age and older will be required to undergo antigen testing before disembarking at the end of the voyage. This test will be conducted the day before the cruise ends. Guests will be notified onboard about how to register for this test. Vaccinated guests who require an antigen or PCR test for re-entry into their country may receive one onboard at no charge.

NCL:

Will NCL offer testing onboard to meet travel requirements for guests flying back to countries that require negative COVID-19 test results to re-enter the country post cruise?

Yes, COVID-19 antigen or PCR tests prior to disembarkation will be administered on board and paid for by the Cruise Line for those guests who require a test to return home. If a PCR test is required for any travel home, the cruise line will administer and pay for a PCR test, only for those guests whose home country specifically requires a PCR test. The PCR test onboard for cruises from Europe will be administered by Eurofins. The PCR test for US based sailings will be administered by Norwegian Cruise Line's medical staff.

If a guest has any other travel plans after disembarking the ship, other than returning to their home country, the guest can still request a PCR test onboard, at a fee of $150 per person.

If a guest booked a post-cruise hotel for more than three nights, it is the responsibility of the guest to make their own arrangements to get re-tested at their own expense.

I would call back and ask to speak to a supervisor for clarification against their own website.
It doesn't matter now because as I stated in my original post this was before they decided to not consider people who have mixed vaccines as vaccinated. I've made other plans and in this ever changing environment things change daily so just because you see something on the website today that is different from what I was actually told by a person it doesn't mean what I was told at the time was incorrect.

It could definitely say something different but I actually spoke to a person in July who told me they did not offer the PCR testing and all testimg requirements would be ournown responsibility.

Sorry. I was just sharing current information from NCL's website. I thought you were insinuating that we were sharing incorrect information.

I would always go to the cruise line's website for information before speaking with rep. Sometimes they don't have all the latest information.
