Do You Have a Disney Trip Planned?

In 2013 I had a pin code for Disney and DH didn't want to go (we had just been there a year or two before that) but said I could and could take someone with me if I wanted to, so I invited our DD (she was 34 at the time). She wanted to go with me, to spend time with me, but said she secretly rolled her eyes and thought "Disney? Really?" But she absolutely LOVED it! :)

So much so that a couple years later she planned a trip for her family (they have two children) and DH and I were invited to go along as was her DH's parents. We had a wonderful time!

Then, last November she and her DH went back, just the two of them. And they have another family trip planned for 2020.

Then, out of the blue, she asked me "would you like to go to Disney again with me?" Of course I would! I was thrilled she wanted to go again, and with me! :)

She got the trip booked today! It's a l-o-n-g way off, November 2018, but I'm already excited and looking forward to it. She's taking care of all the arrangements, and I do not care one bit what we do, just to be able to go, with her, is wonderful!! She and her DH did the Christmas party when they went and she wants us to do that. I've never seen Disney decorated for Christmas so I'm really looking forward to that!! And she said they make it "snow" on Main Street so that will be great too! We're staying at Port Orleans again (our favorite resort), 8 nights with the quick service dining plan.

So, when is your next trip to Disney?

We always have a Disney trip planned. And a Universal one, too. In fact, my husband's got at least our next three years worth of trips planned, if not more.

End of September this year, we're getting in one more trip on our Universal Annual Passes, and we've also purchased MNSSHP tickets, so we'll have a little taste of Disney, too.

Then in January 2018, it's off to Disney, where we'll purchase Annual Passes, meaning we'll make at least three trips to Disney over the next 12 months. I know my husband's got the dates all worked out, but I really don't pay attention past the next two trips.

Disney and Universal are my husband's "happy places". He says - for him - it's basically like having a cabin on a lake, but with less upkeep.

Congrats on your trip. You're going to have a wonderful time! Disney at Christmas is truly magical. Try and see if you can book a Sleigh Ride up at Fort Wilderness. :santa:

Going back for F&W in 2018 but I jut got a PIN yesterday so thinking maybe I could talk dh into a quick trip for this year.

Yes! Well... In the process of planning.

We know we're GOING next summer to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, and we know when but we can't purchase anything until his vacation time is 100% approved. They only bid twice a year(applying to the following 6 month period) so he can't even put in for it until March. It's never been denied before, so our planned dates shouldn't be an issue, but I'm not paying for anything until I know for sure.

I'm wishy-washy on the resort though. I keep going back and forth between AKL, Poly, and Beach Club. DH is no help at all. He literally says, "Whatever you want. I don't care." That is both a blessing- because yay! Whatever I want! And a curse- because I am THE MOST indecisive person on the face of the planet.

I really lean toward the Poly and Beach Club but the budget conscious person I am says do AKL or WL because you can go club level for the same price as a standard room at one of the others! But this is really out once in a life-time so maybe I should just do it!

So exciting :jumping1:

2019. Waiting for some of the construction to be done. This year and next we are trying out other destinations to mix it up.

No current trip planning. We'll probably go back in 2019 or 2020 after the Star Wars construction is done, but DS will start college in 2019, so we'll have to see what schedules/finances permit! I also got a PIN this week, and it's burning a hole in my pocket!

I will say that mother-daughter trips are a lot of fun. I am glad you and your daughter get to go. My sister and I took my mom to Disney World for her 65th and 75th birthdays (and on a Disney Cruise for her 70th.) All the trips were a lot of fun. Great memories!

You must live close to Disney since you go so often. :) When we start spending winters in Florida I would like to go more often too. DH is kind of "meh" about Disney though. He enjoys it to a certain extent, but doesn't care to go that often. We haven't been to Universal in many years, back when they had the Back to the Future and E.T. rides. :)

I'll have to do some research on that sleigh ride at Fort Wilderness, and see if it's something DD would want to do, thanks. :)

Going to their DVC HHI resort in Sept, then F&W in Oct for our birthdays. We were just there in July. Did a last minute trip for DD's birthday.

Yes for May 2018 booked with DU. It is my son's first trip (he is 10 and autistic) and we are stay at the Poly. My 15y DD is almost more excited than I am!

Congrats on your 10 year anniversary! I hope his vacation time will be approved for the time you want to go.

DD and I would both kind of like to try a different resort, but we both think "what if we don't like it as well as PO Riverside?" Or would we be comparing the resorts all the time, etc. So we're just going to go with what we know, and like. This will be my 4th stay at POR and her 3rd. One thing we're trying though, is the Alligator Bayou side. We've always stayed in the Mansions before, so this will be fun and different. She wants to check it out and see if that's the side she wants to stay on for their family trip. The only other Disney resort I've stayed at is the Contemporary, it was nice but I do like POR better.

DH and I are considering going for a couple of days so we can do F&W, but thats not confirmed yet (depends on how it works out with his vacation time), but we ARE planning a big trip for when we go in February for the Princess Run 2018. My sister and I are running the 10K this year.

What construction is going on right now? I think DD said they're doing something at Hollywood Studios, but I'm not sure. I know Pandora is open now so I'm looking forward to that. We've gone many times in January (used to be our favorite month to go as it was SO not crowded!) and there has almost always been some kind of construction going on.

We just bought our AP in July, so we've got until July 2018 to go as often as we can. Trips currently planned:

Thanksgiving week
December 22nd through New Years Day
Presidents Day weekend
Last two weeks of June 2018 - hoping Toy Story Land is open

I forgot about the Star Wars construction, not sure when that's supposed to be done.

That's nice you and your sister took your Mom to Disney a couple times, and the cruise too. I did some trips with my Mom as well, many 2-night trips for her birthday each year especially after my Dad passed away in 2008. DH and I did take them both on a Disney Wonder cruise, Dad had Alzheimer's and didn't even remember the trip the day after we got back. :( But he enjoyed it at the time. :) Then after he passed Mom and I took a Royal Caribbean cruise, and a Carnival cruise, and she and I went to Disney for a week. Wonderful trips and as you said, great memories!! Especially now that she, too, has passed away. I'll never regret spending the time with her. :)

Can you explain "PIN Code" for me as I'm still relatively new to Disney?

2nd trip this year planned in mid-September (we're hooked now :earboy2: ) Dates in my signature below.

After you have stayed there they will sometimes send you a PIN Code, I think it was just a postcard type thing they sent in the mail with a special code that you use to book your next trip. It has to be done within a certain time period, and I don't think you can give it to anyone else to use. We've gotten some PIN codes that we had to let expire, but have used a couple. It's usually for a percentage off the room rate, or a package deal.

Mentally? Yes. Actually booked? Nope! If we can sell the house soon I am hoping for a December Disneyland trip. If it takes a bit longer, then maybe for my birthday in May.

Yep, going this December for seven days. After that, we plan to stay away until the anniversary year in 2021. Not that we need a break from Disney (we don't), but we have my sister's daughter's wedding in Jamaica in 2019 so we have to save for that instead of our usual "odd year" trip every two years.
