As a related yet not related question... For those using packing cubes, how do you handle dirty clothes?

When I travel with the girls I pretty much have all of our stuff in one suitcase. Color codes cubes for each one of us etc. Going home with dirty clothes one suitcase is okay since it has clean clothes and other stuff...the other one is a HUGE DISASTER! I try to get dirty clothes in a garbage sack sometimes that works sometimes not. Our last trip I was literally shoving in clothes and toothbrushes wherever I could fit them. Of course it was the one that when we got home and I looked at TSA had searched. My thought was "well hope you had fun getting it all back in there!"

Has anyone on here used the cell phone protection on the CIP? What was your experience like?

Have been paying bill with CIP since May but screen broke the other day and now it is inoperable. It is an older iphone and no receipt. Trying to convince DH it is worth him calling and seeing if we can take advantage of the insurance protection.

Because we mostly travel in timeshares we always have a washer and dryer available, but I would use different colors. It is a little sad that I wish I needed more packing cubes or luggage to make use of the E Bag deal. My personal favorite is the Eagle Creek Specter cubes. These are so lightweight and space saving that they are wonderful. They also come in a compression style which packs things even tighter. I found most of mine on Ebay and I just can't justify purchasing more :-(

I do have a question. At this time it seems as though car rental is the one thing that I haven't found a way to save money on. Does anyone here have any good ideas for car rental? Is there a decent site to use points from?

Haven't used points but when I researched options, Costco was the cheapest. I compared booking thru CSR as well as Avis (preferred membership or something) and whatever rates found on Internet

I like credit karma. Just see what the account opening date is for each card, and which are within the last 24 months. Most say that if you are 5/24 and one is about to drop off, wait until the next month to apply for any cards so it has dropped off. Ie my DH's oldest card of his 5 in the last 24 months was opened Nov 15 of 2015, we would have waited until Dec 1st to apply for anything.

ETA: as Pillow said, CK interface isn't as easy to use. You used to be able to sort accounts by date opened, but that's gone now. Now I keep a spreadsheet with my opening date, AF, what MS is/how long I have, when I hit it, when it posts...

Good news! I just dug around credit karma. I am only 3/24...I think...and one fall off in March. Correct me if I am wrong pls...

Chase Freedom (9yrs)
Chase Disney (7yrs)
Chase SW Premier (6yrs)
Citicard (costco amex convert) (6 yrs)
Care Credit (6 yrs)
Chase Freedom Unltd (3/16-5/16 CLOSED)
Chase SW Plus (5/16-5/17 CLOSED)
Chase Sapphire Preferred (6mths, opened 6/17)

So what are my next steps? I need the SW CP to renew b/c mine expires on 12/31....sigh. But I can't do it til late summer since I got the bonus for the SW plus back around 6/16. So those 2 cards will take up 2 slots later in 2018....but I will have the one fall off in March so that can be one of the 2 slots.
I value UR points. We fly SW a ton b/c they have the most nonstops from BNA and DH has a CP thru 2018. I will pick back up with one mid 2018-2019.
We would like to try to do Hawaii next Thanksgiving or Christmas and would like to sit in some nice lay flat seats at least for the overnight trip (return?).
We would like to also do a nice ski trip in March....out west somewhere.
We have tons of Hilton points too from actual stays for DH work travels, so we tend to stay there.
Currently I put everything on my Sapphire except rotating categories on my CF and the occasional amex offer.
DH puts everything on the CSR and he will only carry one card at a time...don't get me started. ha!
DD18 is an AU on my SW card so I can keep her stuff separate.
Tuition is coming due for dd18 college so using a sign up bonus would make it worth paying the credit card fee.

Thoughts on a plan?

Do you find Discover as readily accepted as Visa/MC? I have never had one.

I've used it everywhere. Occasionally I might see a small shop that only takes Visa, but with so many payment processors now even a lot of small places take all the majors. Thinking about it now I can't think of somewhere I've been in the last 5 years that took cards but didn't take Discover.

My aunt is a TA and she says Costco has the best price on rental cars. BUT for us, we had to rent a minivan for 10 days this past summer and Costco was never cheaper than the rate we got directly through Thrifty. We paid less than $700 for 10 days and Costco was never less than $900. Same for UR...about $950...so just check around. My aunt said that Houston is expensive for rental cars so maybe that was it?? We don't rent often to really know.

So the FrdmUnlmtd and SW+ will fall off in the next 6 months - seems to me you can almost approach this as you are 1/24 if you space apps out (which you probably will anyways with the amount of min spend). If I understand things correctly you could practically get 7 Chase cards still...example strategy:

1) CIP - under 5/24 but doesn't count against 5/24
2) SW Premiere
3) SW Biz - under 5/24 but doesn't count against 5/24
4) Freedom - just saying as an example
5) SW Plus - once you're past Jun or Jul or whatever
***at this point you are technically 4/24 (with your CSP) and can do a double dip***
6) Marriott
7) ??? Not even sure lol - maybe United?

You could slow your Pace with Chase by putting an AMEX Biz card or two in there also. Others may have different ideas but you are at a really great spot!!

Anyone know how long the CHase Pay offer for Walmart is good for? Are WM GC's earning 10x?

My new CIP arrived today! Do I need to set up a new login for Chase's website to see it? I have a couple personal ones, but there doesn't seem to be a way to add this. Thanks!

So, your options are to create an account on the biz side of Chase and keep things separate OR ask Chase to combine your personal and biz profiles. The problem with them combining is that you end up having to use the biz interface which is not as user-friendly as the personal. We keep separate profiles here and just deal with multiple logins.

you need to create another login for the CIP. If u want it all under one login, u would need to merge your personal accounts to your Business account. keep in mind, some things might not transfer over (ie external accounts and Chase pay)
