I love credit cards so much!

A few years ago AMEX raised my interest rate and for some reason I noticed it. I called them up and after a long debate, got it lowered back down.

This probably isn't the right place to ask but I know many of you book on various airlines etc. and you've got tons of knowledge.

Anyone have issues with their "ticket pending" after an AA purchase? I bought $700 in gift cards to save 7% (every little bit helps) and paid the rest with a credit card. I purchased the tickets Friday night and it's now Tuesday. I have yet to receive a conformation email and when I check the status of my flight it says "Ticket Pending".

My fear is that there's some sort of issue, they'll cancel the order, prices will then be more than the $242 round trip price I paid for and I'll be stuck with the gift cards.

Anyone ever have the same experience? We're flying with AA in a few weeks to D.C. from LAX and I can remember getting a confirmation email within about 10 minutes (also used gift cards then as well). These are flights for early November so I'm not concerned about not having tickets but I would hate for the prices to go up.

Edit: I haven't called yet due to the high call volume mentioned by FB users. 2+ hour wait. But I may have to at some point...

You can call SW directly and they will change it over the phone keeping your confirmation numbers and EBCI

I’ve done it a few times...just be aware at least for me it put me back further in the EBCI line, my hubby who I book after me as my companion was say A19 and I was A 40 ...for 4,000 points I’d call but not for 400
Excellent, thanks! The flight isn't until December, so I'm really not too worried about the boarding position. I always get EBCI when we have connecting flights somewhere, because I don't want to have to be nervous about positions four times (2 out, 2 back). I know a lot of people don't think it's worth the cost, but when I'm not paying for the actual airfare I feel it's worth it to remove a little stress from my trip.

ETA: It had dropped by about 1000 a couple weeks ago and I didn't think it was worth the hassle for that, but 4000 is a different story.

Because it’s likely FAKE! It’s all made to look very legit to fool you. If you do have an account with BBW, I would call BBW to let them know about the email and confirm whether there are any of these transactions in your name.
I called corporate number for help, they told me their system accidentally used my email....or someone with a similiar email accidentally input mine..... no help there.

We always get it too..same reason..actual airfare is free and no worries about checking in at 24 hours....never had an issue with my husband sitting in an aisle seat....towards the back and placing something on the middle seat for me

I’m another vote for phishing. Key things to check (WITHOUT CLICKING IN THE EMAIL):
-hover your cursor over the senders email (sometimes the email address is made to look legit, sometimes they change the name but not the actual address and you something like evilbob@gmail.com)
-how’s the English look? 100% totally normal or is it a bit weird in places?

All that said, don’t click on it or call any numbers in it. If you think it’s legit call Bath and Body Works and they’ll be able to tell you if you have an order in process. If you don’t think it’s legit/not sure you can forward it to them if you want to bring it to their attention (most companies have this type of option to help them fight scammers). From the Bath and Body Works website “Help us fight fraudulent email requests that make reference to Bath & Body Works by forwarding them (without altering the subject line) to us at CustomerCare@BathandBodyWorks.com” just forward it, don’t do anything else with it besides deleting it :)
thanks- will do

What is the likehood of SW personal cards increase offer? My DH has the bussiness card already and I want to get the CP for our trip in October. I keep waiting for an increase offer but if I do not see one soon we will have to apply for the 40k. We already have over 70k points so no problem there, but I would love the 50K offer instead.

I would take what I can get as it seems like Chase in particular has been steadily decreasing card benefits within the past year. Normally Chase has been honoring better promotions if one comes out during your min spend.

Just to make sure:
- Have the 70k points been accumulated this year?
- Is your husband applying for the personal card?

If not, the points won't qualify for CP. It's already late in the year so you will only be able to use the CP for the remainder of 2019.

I’d probably go for it since your trip is coming up soon and you will get the companion pass even with the lower offer. If Chase increases the offer you can ask for a match. You could also double dip for more points.

Yes we already have over 70k in points. I do not have much vacation time so we would only use the CP 1-2x a year anyways.

We like to get two aisle seats, so getting on earlier gives us a much better chance of being able to sit right across from each other.

I have! So what happens is AA is in the dark ages and they queue tickets to issue so they show as “ticket pending” to you then in the next couple days the system should issue your ticket. BUT: I had one sit for almost a week and had to contact them and they said it had been thrown out of the queue but they’d put it back in, a couple days passed and it was still pending, contacted again they had to contact someone to manual force the ticket to process. Their Twitter team was super helpful for me so I’d DM them about when your ticket will be issued. Even if you don’t have Twitter sign up with a fake name and then in DM you’ll give AA your actual info when they ask for it.

Wow did not think about double dipping the SW personal cards! And they are only 2K spend correct?:magnify:

Yes. Make sure you apply and get approved for both on the same day. I hate to recommend them with such a low offer but October is approaching quickly and it would stink if you can’t add the companion. I’d book the flight now with points and add the companion later. Depending on how quickly you can meet the spend you can wait a bit longer, but Chase is pretty good at matching offers if it has been less than 90 days.
