I love credit cards so much!

The points are flowing my friends!!! Congrats to all again :) Thank you Chase for whatever you did to fix this LOL!
No SW points for me and statement closed yesterday. I wasn’t really expecting them, but I met msr as soon as I got the card so I was hoping for a miracle. I need to book flights.

Fun Discussion Question:
Which "churning high" do you find best/most exhilarating?
1) Approved for the card (you like me, you really like me!)
2) Receiving the card (yay the mail is here!)
3) Meeting the MSR (i.e. completing the last purchase to finish the MSR!)
4) Seeing the bonus points post/go pending (whew...they didn't shut me down or use the T&Cs against me, lol)
5) Redeeming the points (not the physical act of traveling, rather the on paper act of redeeming, lol)

Any thoughts??? Figured this might be a fun discussion for our group here :)
tied between 4&5...since I don't really 'love' credit cards like the title says:rotfl2:....however I do love saving money, and making the experiences happen as a pt 'job' is lots of fun!

Mine either. He does however enjoy free vacations. We actually had dinner sans kid last weekend and I was trying to explain the “DD is dead. No Disney thru UR portal” news. He about slipped into a coma. Although he did nod agreeably
I showed my husband my spreadsheet with what we have saved on trips since last spring (2017) when I started tracking thru March 2019 spring break. It was around $20k and I haven’t even booked all our flights yet.
His response, “is that inflated though?”
Ummm no. Why does this all seem so far fetched!?:teacher:

I think #1. I always get so nervous with every app. I will take it a step further and say approval for biz cards...b/c they don’t count against me.

There is a DP in the r/churning DD thread that somebody was able to get a 2nd bonus on the CIP without waiting 24 months using the same SSN (no EIN trick, no special sorcery...just straight up applied again 11 months after earning the bonus). They canceled the other one first...

Proceed with caution if you decide to attempt it, but this one is pretty interesting...
Feels like a trap...where is my tinfoil hat so I can join the club?

This is me at times...

But just in case was wondering what card are most linking? Is there a better card?
It depends on the store. For Walgreen’s, I used my FR to max out at the 5x this quarter, for Staples, I still have the 10% off offer on AmEx if not then the CIC since earns 5x, for CVS, Macy’s and HD I used my CIU for the 1.5x plus I am trying to get my MSR completed. For DH’s account, I only have his CIC linked (since I had already added the AmEx, FR and CIU to my RMN account. His account was an afterthought.

Yes, just bought one now and triggered the RMN offer.

THanks to everyone who discussed RMN. It prompted me to look into it and download the app. I added the CVS, Walgreens and Home Depot offers. Today after my acupuncture appointment (still dealing with the Bell's Palsy), I decided to trot off to all 3 stores and bought a Disney GC at each one. I got the notification immediately afterwards. YAY! Thanks guys, can't believe I'm getting $30 back on $75!
Yes it is way too good to be true. I’m not expecting to to last long so good thing you hopped on the train now!

Couple of updates:

My TD bank bonus just posted. Now I need to clean up my accounts and close some older accounts like BMO. Then once they are cleaned up I’ll be opening Suntrust and TD in my SOs name. Elements hasn’t posted but I think they are cracking down on their direct deposits so I’m assuming I won’t get that bonus.

MS is my life right now. I stopped going to Walmart twice a day and have settled for once. The rep that denied me at night was back a few times I tried at night. I saw her and immediately walked out lol.

I booked a Disney trip in December and got a Magical Rate. When I was looking on the Disney website the best deal we found was $250 a night for Saratoga. So if I was using URs at 1.5 rate the trip would have been about 96,000 URs.(three nights and deluxe dining) My rate now is $1200 for a three nights at Port Orleans French Quater and Deluxe Dining. So 120,000 URs to cash out which I probably will. I’m getting Disney Giftcards though for at least 10% off. Some of the RMN deals are 40% off though. Worst case I’m assuming I’ll actually redeem 100,080. Not that far off from booking direct through Disney at the 1.5 rate. The resort did go down to a moderate but my SO calls Saratoga springs a moderate anyway.

So I booked a Rental Car using URs - thanks to those who answered my questions about it a few weeks ago here.

I decided that I have a crap-ton of URs...can't use them at 1.5x towards Disney right now (and maybe not ever)...might as well get the max value on our Sea World rental car for November.

When I previously had a stash of URs back in 2016 I transferred all of them to Southwest sooooo this is the first time I've ever actually used URs this way. Good times my friends, good times!
I booked a car rental thru my CSR for upcoming Maui trip....I must have missed the discussion on the thread tho....anything I should keep in mind?

Are you telling me I’m going to have to consider looking into this too?? LOL! I’ve been resisting thus far haha.

OK, ok, I capitulate. Resistance really is futile. I just registered, and have a little lunchtime spree planned to hit a bunch of these places. Even though I really don't have time to take a lunch break today. And do I really need $100 worth of gift cards? But can't... resist... saving... money...

The FOMO is strong with this one

The UR game....yes!

My September statement closed on my Chase Freedom yesterday. It's my only UR earning card right now, but that's okay as I have plans for others next year!

Anyway, I had gotten the bonus on my first statement in August plus 2500 plus UR's for a $500 Disney card at Walgreens. Then I bought another at Walgreens for this past statement. I was able to see my balance go to 20049 UR! Yay! Or in other terms - $200.49.

Now since my statement has closed, I will buy another $500 gift card before 9/30 to cap my $1500. That will put me up to $225+. And then, 4th quarter will be another $75 in credits or 7500 UR, whichever sounds more exciting!

These UR's have no plans at all. The idea was to become a player. But, with little or no effort or significant cost and no annual fee, I can use this card over 1 and 1/2 years to save $600 in easily accessible funding by spending on something (Disney gift cards) that up to this past month I was paying full price for - my DVC dues! Or, I can get more UR cards eventually and cash out for other travel at 1 and 1/4 or 1 and 1/2 times.

I know others have been doing this and other ideas for years. And I've been sitting here reading and truly not letting it click into my brain that for a DVC owner this is almost a 'must do'! It's effortless! And requires almost no work.

Of course, you can use your Freedom to get better return by doing RMN, and maybe other purchases but I wanted to just show an example of a very simple way to make up to $300 a year almost passively. This may appeal to people who don't like the idea of annual fees or who just don't want to get into a lot of credit card MSR.

I would have said, 'Check it out and you decide!'

What he should realize is that his wife has a neat little part time job and is helping the bottom line.

(Not going to get into the 'extra' travel that occurs just because you can go more easily with more funds. Let him figure that one out himself!)

It goes back on your card. You have to link a credit card on RMN. Then once you charge one of the RMN offers on your linked card it triggers the cash back to your card. I don’t think you have to use PayPal. I’m not sure what that’s about.
You cash out your rebates to PayPal.

I agree that W would have a better shot at approval with the higher score, but adding H as an AU on a biz card won’t do anything for his credit score because the biz card doesn’t report to the credit bureaus. I’m not that familiar with DPs about how low is too low to be approved for a CIP (CIC and CIU could also be options, as I think both have lower credit limit requirements.)
Ok so my friend with the 720's score I was going to rec. she try for the CIP, how should she fill out the app? If she's the bookkeeper in her Dh's biz, but not called a co owner- or under her own name ss#? since she has a side childcare biz of her own right now? (and for her DH who is high 600's,could he try for the FR card to get his own credit score moving up? or a discover card? what's a good start for him?

I mostly agree about SSR. Now if they would get a refurb and if you were able to stay in the Congress (?) section, that puts it up a notch for me. I stayed there with the Downtown Disney view and the easy walk and the spotless room right when it first opened and I enjoyed it. I've done a few nights here and there in recent years where I'm off in the boonies and I then 'feel' that moderate idea. For me 'deluxe' at Disney means being close to great amenities such as the parks and restaurants. BCV, BLT and BWV satisfies that, even though the rooms are pretty much inline with SSR. The one thing I do enjoy is the kitchenette in any DVC studio - feels more homey to make a cup of coffee than a regular hotel room does.

We have been going back and forth about getting DVC, this is probably why they don’t want you to walk out the door without buying while there but I am trying to understand this use year and booking window and whether it is difficult to get reservations for say Aulani or Vero Beach in June or Aug. so let’s say I get a use year of Oct, my home Resort is Copper Creek, in order to take advantage of the 11 month’s out, I would need to book Sept. But DS has school in Sept so I would be looking probably to book either June or Aug but I may not be able to get them since that would be either 8 or 10 months out? But then I usually book my airfare first with SW before my hotel since the airfare can be all over the place pricing wise but SW’s schedule isn’t out 8 or 10 months in advance...or am I just overthinking this and I should just buy the 120 points and be done with it? Especially since I already have this Plat that I need to make the spend on and justify the outrageous AF to DH...

I wonder how they are going to market the Rivera when they are start selling that location? Besides being a Skyline stop, it seems like a bad location. Plus the name is tacky. Reminds me too much of Vegas...
