March Check-In **Official** Thread (Start with Post #17)

Heads up from today's "MP DLR Update":

…Though Disney's calendar seems to indicate the company expects the peak spring break crowds April 5–12, MousePlanet reader Amy, a self-described "Annual passholder forever and mother of Disney employees," tells us that Arizona schools observe spring break March 9–20, and warns they are some of the biggest crowds she's ever seen. Visitors from Utah also flock to the Disneyland Resort for spring break, and the Utah state board of education shows their schools will observe spring break anytime from March 9 through April 17.

More news (starting 3/06):
First Look: Ian & Barley from Disney and Pixar’s ‘Onward’ Coming to Disney California Adventure Park and Hong Kong Disneyland

The Afternoon Tea at Steakhouse 55 will be themed for "Cinderella" during March! (Starts Feb. 7 and ends Mar. 30)

OP: This might be information to add to the first page.

Hello,

Person from Arizona here, more specifically Tucson. My children's spring break is March 13-22 and the University of Arizona is March 7-15, so this is accurate as far as I am concerned. That's why we are coming in on March 13 :). Plus my girls and I are all March birthdays and we plan to celebrate at Disneyland!

We were at Disney December 26-December 30 2018 and the crowds were horrendous. I am hoping that they are at least a bit better this time.

Happy travels!

Will be in DLR March 3-6. DL on March 3 & 5, DCA on March 4, flying out on March 6.

Staying at Ramada Convention Center.

This will be a trip celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, walking where Walt once walked!

Sounds fun! Have you thought about doing the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour?

Thanks. I must be thinking of something else that starts at the end of the month then... I wonder what it is? At any rate, I'm so glad we're going to enjoy the Tea. Should we spring for the premium you think - it'll be nearly a lunch by then for us and my hubby can always eat. Always. We've seen some photos and totally fell in love with the shoe.

Tangled would be awesome! I wonder if they'll theme it for October when I come back? I'd love to do a Haunted Mansion one (but that's too late for their anniversary).

I will say that I’ve never done premium, and I’m always stuffed! But I do drink A LOT of tea!😋 The shoe with the raspberry cream was so well done and pretty delicious. And the cake pop is also amazing and probably my favorite dessert.

They have had a Halloween-themed tea at least the past couple years, and the Christmas one is always fantastic! Enjoy!!

...and MANY Canadians have spring break the last two weeks of March. This will be our third time going the 3rd week of March (14th - 19th are our dates) and it's always been VERY busy.

I'm hoping Maxpass will allow us to have less waiting in line...

Alright everyone. We are getting very close. Counting down single digits until March!

Who is trying for ROTR and what's your strategy (to the extent there is much of a strategy involved)? At this point we are planning to ride, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't concerned about the frequent breakdowns. I do NOT want to spend three hours sitting in a line waiting for it to come up 😬

We definitely plan to try for ROTR but I am so stinking nervous and stressed about it. I have been trying to follow the other threads as closely as I can. I feel like I mostly know what to do but it feels like a game of chance and will just hope that all the planets align, that my phone functions properly, have a good cell signal and have fast enough fingers. My 7 year old is a MEGA Star Wars fan and would be absolutely heart broken if we didn’t get to ride it. I imagine its going to be pretty busy during our trip and we will only have 2 chances but I’m hopeful.

Oh wow. I wonder if they are expecting bigger crowds. I am blown away by the wait times I saw from last Friday through yesterday. It looked brutal, similar to when I went the first week of April two years ago. My trip is in 9 days and I am super nervous the crowds are going to be terrible.

I just had to redo my entire plan because the park opens an hour earlier than I expected each day. I SWEAR I researched it and the park has opened at 9:00 during the week I'm there in the past, but now I can't find where I saw that so I think I'm probably crazy. Anyway, looks like we'll be up bright and early!

I really think if you've been following the thread, arrive well before open, and have a general idea of what to do, you will get a boarding pass. It's been weeks since anyone has reported missing out entirely who had even a rudimentary understanding of what to do. I think the bigger gamble is whether it's one of the unicorn, record-breaking days or a... today... kind of day.

Hello,

I do plan on trying to get boarding pass because we will be there taking advantage of EMH/MM anyways, I am not going to stress over getting on the ride though, as no one in my family is crazy about Star Wars we just want to ride all the rides we can. I am not going to wait in a line for three hours either :).

I'm excited as our trip is coming up in three weeks!!!

ROTR is one of the major reasons we are going so soon after our last trip. I even extended our dates from the original ones so we can devote several days to attempt to ride it and still have time at the end of the trip to do other things. Been following the threads here and we are early in line people anyway so I don't think it will be difficult for us to get into the parks before opening.

We'll be there for 5 days (3 full and 2 half days). We'll try on 2 of our days. I don't want to stress myself out every day of our trip. :goodvibes I am a little anxious about it, but I've been following along the boards so I'm prepared as I can be!

People have started posting about missing out because of technical glitches (very recent -- maybe over the past two days?). Hopefully, the app will have an update soon to take care of all this. And, we have a nice, new "How To" Guide that can help with the basics: "How To" Guide For Riding Rise of the Resistance at DL - No Spoilers - Please Read Post #1!!!. (This is now post #4 on page one of the Rise of the Resistance BOARDING GROUPS Superthread *No Ride Spoilers Please* *PLEASE READ POSTS 1-4*.)

We will be at DLR March 29th - April 3rd. This is our 2nd spring break trip and first trip staying off-site. I’m not jazzed about staying off-site but the cost to stay on-site was just way too high this time.

I'll get you added, but to confirm, DLR is Disneyland Resort, right? Is that not considered on-site?
