AP holders from NY, NJ, Conn

The crazy thing is that I have a house in an area of NJ where numbers are very low and an apartment in PA where numbers are high. I can use my PA address and not quarantine but if I use my NJ address where I am actually less likely to be sick and have to quarantine. This is all so confusing. I'd really like to know if my NJ resident friend can stay with me in PA before heading down to Disney to avoid the quarantine.

I just hope at this point Disney at least makes some sort of offical annoucement addressing it. Maybe that is hoping for too much though.

How does extending the quarantine on NY, NJ and CT even make sense? I think FL is being a baby about NY slapping a quarantine on visitors to FL. (Which to be fair, was a tit-for-tat from NY to FL, but at least justifiable from the rising cases in FL).

Maine, which unlike Florida has a low incidence of COVID-19 to protect, has a quarantine policy, but they specifically exempted NY, NJ and CT last week. But Florida, whose case rate is way higher than Maine and higher than NY, NJ and CT deems a quarantine necessary only for those states? I don't buy it. Someone is having an ego trip.
Except it wasn’t tit for tat. There are now 19 states on the list, and 18 of them never had any restrictions on tri-state travelers. It’s all about the numbers, not revenge.

I think Florida was right to order quarantines on visitors from hot spots back when there were few cases in FL. The issue is that the restrictions haven’t been updated as case numbers have risen and fallen. I think we can agree that restricting people from states with a positive rate under 1% while not restricting travelers from states with over 20% is ridiculous. But right now so many COVID19 response policies are political rather than science-based, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

Now I’ve gotta figure out where to spend my dirty tri-state money in August. Because my family needs a vacation, and I’m not dealing with a two-way quarantine.

Coming back is more of the issue

Coming back is more of the issue
I'm not concerned about that since I'm working from home and basically self isolating. A quarantine really wouldn't change our behavior at all. We haven't decided if we are definitely going as we need to know if we will be able to enjoy ourselves without significant risk.

If you look on the WDW website, they have a statement regarding the travel restrictions and a link to the FL website. I think that's as far as they are going to go. Ultimately, the restrictions are being imposed by FL and not WDW. Other than saying, "Guests who are under isolation or quarantine orders must not enter Walt Disney World Resort," I don't think they really want to be directly involved in this, but that's just my opinion.

I've been researching alternate trips in the NE region for a while now and we were looking at Lake Placid and the Adirondack region in NY and the Poconos in PA (we ended up booking in the Poconos since it's a little closer to us). We have friends who are going to ME and some family members going to Vermont. I've, personally, appreciated the way the NE states have handled the travel restrictions. VT, in particular, went to a county rate of infection weeks ago and updated their data every week to determine who could come in without quarantining (people from counties whose rate of infection was the same or lower than VT's). It was a real-time, realistic way of trying to keep their community spread down with tourists coming in while still welcoming some out-of-state tourism. It just seemed to make sense as it was based on actual data. I'm not getting why FL still doesn't want us there but people in current hotspots can come in. Maybe they just don't want a huge influx of tourists right now?

Does anyone know if you fly out of Boston but live in CT do you need to fill out the quarantine paperwork
The mandate is not based upon where you live, but the airports you fly in/out of. It is my understanding that flights from all NY, NJ, and CT airports are subject to the 14 day quarantine going to Florida, you will be required to complete a form on board. Returning, flights back to all NY, NJ, and CT airports have the 14 day quarantine on that end. I believe that all airlines should announce the mandate at the gate before boarding, so that travelers are informed of the requirement and are given the opportunity at that point if they can't comply, don't go, or change the flight somehow. There probably some who aren't current on requirements or don't watch the news. Instead, you are given the form on the plane..what are you supposed to do at that point once you are in flight and can't fulfill the requirements.

Looks like the I-95 checkpoint is up and active overnight and this morning so I guess FDOT has their orders that this quarantine requirement is still on.

Again please stay on topic
This thread is to discuss your plans as an ap from these states while thrle eo is in effect
Not
Why it is in effect, if it's fair, constitutional, political hardball, political retaliation
Also
Please no discussion on circumventing the eo by flying from different airports/states
Thank you

I just sent this to Disney via email... I’m sure it won’t help but it made me feel better to send it. 😉

Now that the FL governor has extended the state of emergency and the 14 day quarantine requirement for NY/NJ/CT residents for another 60 days, what are Disney’s plans for Annual Passholders from these states? It is nearly impossible for many of us from these states to travel to FL because we will not be able to quarantine for 14 days before we enter Disney property for various reasons (ex. it is financially impossible to pay for a hotel to quarantine in for 14 days in addition to what we are already paying for the length of our vacation, we do not have enough vacation time to cover the quarantine in addition to our planned vacation, etc.).

The situation is no fault of your Annual Passholders or Disney, of course... but the circumstances do not allow a contingent of your most loyal customers to take full advantage of the benefits of their costly Annual Passes. It most certainly would be a sign of goodwill and an example of excellent service that we have come to know and love if Disney develops some sort of accommodation for Annual Passholders that are impacted by this quarantine... perhaps the choice of an additional extension of our AP’s that covers the length of time that the parks are open while the quarantine mandate is in place, or a refund for the same time period.

We are your most loyal customers... please consider reciprocating that loyalty to us with some reasonable options to accommodate this unprecedented situation.

Sounds good. Let us know if you get a response.

Hey guys...

Since there was still no update on the website, I decided to call the phone number at the bottom of the COVID page...

The woman I spoke with, who was very nice I must say, explained that when Louisiana was lifted from the quarantine, the July 7th expiration date for NY/NJ/CT was also lifted. Now, the official expiration date for the quarantine is September 5th, unless it is lifted at some point. Here’s the number if anyone wants to call themselves: 1 (866) 779-6121

I didn’t want to believe it, but now I have no choice.

I’m just very sad right now 😢

I am going to wait a week or two to see what the response is for the AP for those coming from NY/NJ/CT I think they should extend the length of the pass until we are able to travel down there again when the executive order is no longer in place. I do not want a refund I just want the extension

We are in CT. We had a GV at OKW for mid-August, which we cancelled. We also have a house in Orlando which complicates the Travel ban issue. We are retired, so there is no employment issue with the quarantine, but it is still very restrictive. Frankly, until Florida‘s numbers come down, I wouldn’t go.

What email address did you use. I will gladly send an email since we are in the same position with DVC APs. We have a trip planned in Sept. but can’t take the chance of waiting until Sept. 5 to see what happens. DVC has changed some of its policies but I still can’t chance losing points by cancelling too late. This whole thing stinks. They are taking away everything we have to look forward to. Easy to see how people can get depressed with all of thus.

just a thought, how would disney know if you did or did not quarantine before going to their property? I mean, if you take magical express..maybe, but if you're driving you could've potentially quarantined elsewhere before arriving on property.
