I think he did it intentionally. There's too much coincidence of him searching for information and his knowledge of how it all would work out at the police station. I think his wife knew about it and didn't stop it too.

I'm not sure if they could find him on a lesser charge. I only saw that surrounding Cooper's death there are 3 charges 1 for malice murder and 2 for murder while committing a felony.

I'm assuming there are lesser included charges such as manslaughter etc., are there not? I haven't had a chance to actually look much into the details of what was actually charged.

To me it looks like if the jury even finds him guilty of cruelty to children in the 2nd degree (that would be the neglect) then he would be guilty of one of the felony murders.

I am no legal expert, but it looks like the jury can find that it was intentional (malice murder), the jury can find that it wasn't intentional but legally neglectful and therefore cruelty to children and one of the felony murder charges, or the jury can find it was a total accident (which would be not guilty on all the murder/cruelty to children charges)

Then there is the sexting with minors stuff

Oh looks like there are 2 felony murder charges and First degree and second degree cruelty to a child charges. One of the 2 felony murder charges seems to require malice the other only requires criminal negligence. I think I could find him quilt on Counts 6-8 the sexting a minor charges and at least on Count 3 - Felony Murder (that is the criminal negligence one) and Count 5 the cruelty to a child in the second degree. I honestly believe he was negligent that day and that lead to Coopers death.
 
No matter what he won't be walking out due to the sxing charges with minors. I guess we now wait till after lunch and see what the defense does and who the witness's are.
