DIS-Meet Junior – June 2014 Girls Trip ~ Updated 1/21: See Ya Real Soon!

we are still working on the whole "fun-scary" concept ... though we have gotten through the first 2 Harry Potter movies now so that is a start :thumbsup2
Good job! :thumbsup2

Its fun going back in time and seeing the small kids again...I am used to them being older now:)
Same here! :rotfl: I can't get over how they seemed like "big girls" at the time of the trip (since they'd just been babies, really) and now looking back they seem so itty bitty!

And the Rain, Rain, Rain Came Down, Down, Down :umbrella:

After grabbing our strollers, we headed up to the monorail platform to make our way to the Magic Kingdom:

It was still pouring buckets, as you can kind-of see in this picture:

As we were heading over to the MK, I realized that I’d screwed up. :headache: Lauren had been kind enough to bring along one of Aria’s adorable dresses for Izzy to wear when we met Anna and Elsa that night…and I’d forgotten it in the condo! :sad2: Oops. So much for that cute meet wearing the “sisters” dress. Random Tinkerbell outfit it is!

Soon enough, we pulled into the MK station and headed down the ramp in the rain. I believe I had the stroller cover on for Izzy and an umbrella, hat and raincoat for myself. And that helped for the rain falling from the sky, but it didn’t make a tiny bit of difference when we had to trudge through the ginormous path-wide inches-deep puddle between the monorail ramp and the MK gates. :scared: I was wearing walking shoes and socks and both were completely soaked through and unpleasantly squishy all night. Ugh. :crazy2:

Despite the drenching, we successfully entered the park and made our way down a soggy Main Street:

So, you may remember that the main purpose of this trip was for Lauren and I to ride the new-at-the-time Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Well, you know what happens when it downpours in Fantasyland, right? Yeah, so it was down. Of course it was.

Instead, we headed across the way to Winnie the Pooh pooh: :

I’m sure Aria was happy to get out of the covered stroller once we got under the covered queue:

The girls enjoyed playing in the queue area:

Yeah, there’s soaking wet me.

I don’t think we were playing long before we boarded our honeypot:

The girls loved it, of course:

After the ride, what could be more fun than a toddler in a dump shop? TWO toddlers in a dump shop full of Pooh bears :rotfl: :

We still had some time before our prized Anna & Elsa Fast Passes, so we hit the Mad Tea Party:

Neither Lauren nor I are into fast spinning :faint:, so we just rode without any extra spinning. Luckily, the girls were young enough that they didn’t know the difference and had an absolute blast. First, I think before we started, some shy smiles at sitting together:

Ready for fun:

Wheeeeeeeee:

After our spin, we headed in with our A&E FPs to meet the famous and popular sisters:

Aria seemed impressed:

Up next: Meeting some princesses.

I'm here now! :) took me a little time! :P

You should definitely pull out 4 parks/1 world for izzy. Caden is obsessed with it and likes for me to quiz him about which ride each song is for. Lol. Although small world is his favorite and I'm about to delete it from my iphone "oh sorry caden. It's not here anymore. Weird!"

Caden and izzy are totally gonna hit it off! Even 2 years ago izzy is so much like him. He also loved and loved his legos! And watching Disney movies on the iPad! Lol. Though that's probably a pretty typical 4 yr old thing ;)

Princesses and Dwarfs

Aria went up first to meet Anna and Elsa:

I think Izzy was hanging back, being a little shy.

Looks like they convinced Izzy to come join them:

And some Photopass pictures of the encounter:

I think Izzy was about to run away in that last one. :rotfl:

Looks like both girls felt it was important to have their hands on their faces for the group shot:

These ones with borders are all out of sequence, but here you go anyway:

After we finished with the sisters, it was on to Princess Aurora. It appears that she admired Aria’s dress:

And some Photopass pictures:

Looks like some more gift shop explorations took place after the meets:

When we came out of the Olaf shop, the rain had let up quite a bit and the Mine Train was running again! :cool1: We headed over and obtained a Rider Swap. Lauren went in first while I took the girls back for another spin on Winnie the Pooh.

Lauren’s ride experience:

While she was in the mine and such, we were playing in the Pooh queue:

After her ride, Lauren took over in the Pooh queue while I went to ride 7DMT. Since it was still a bit wet out, I don’t have any pictures of the ride. But we both enjoyed it and will get back on it later in the trip! (and on all those other trips since…:rolleyes2)

Oh, wait! I DO have video of the part inside the mine:

(click to watch)

We also have some more Pooh pics:

After that, we headed over to Space Mountain, where I guess we had Fast Passes and probably grabbed a Rider Swap. I rode and Lauren got the girls some snacks while they waited:

And my Photopass:

I love Space Mountain. :lovestruc Good way to close out the ride part of the night. :thumbsup2

Up next: What, a nighttime parade in the Magic Kingdom?! :confused3 (Since, you know, there WON’T be one on our upcoming trip! :sad1:)

:welcome: Hi, April! I'm so glad you're here! (and that I lured you back to the DIS...:rotfl:)

I need to find it! [adds to To Do list...] Good idea on the quizzing!

Although small world is his favorite and I'm about to delete it from my iphone "oh sorry caden. It's not here anymore. Weird!"
:lmao: Izzy and I had a Small World sing-along the other day. That was fun. But I can see how listening to it over and over can lead to that...:rotfl2:

Caden and izzy are totally gonna hit it off! Even 2 years ago izzy is so much like him. He also loved and loved his legos! And watching Disney movies on the iPad! Lol. Though that's probably a pretty typical 4 yr old thing ;)
I am so excited that your trip is going to overlap with us! :hyper: I hope all the kids get along great and we can spend some time letting them play together (Dumbo play area or something). And, yeah, our living room is literally covered in Legos and Duplos right now. ::yes:: And Izzy may have watched like 5+ Disney movies last weekend.

Lol! Nice work! I've done all my dec trip planning on fb groups this time around so I've been totally off Dis boards unless I needed info I couldn't find elsewhere. It doesn't help that it makes my computer freeze up every time I try to use the website. So that's the main reason I've been away.

I'm so excited too! I've wanted to meet up for years! I can't believe it's gonna happen!! I'm sure the kids will have a blast together! :)

Right?!? First thing caden said when we told him about the trip was asking to see the light up parade.
No go there.

That's a bummer your computer freezes up! Mine is slow on the DIS sometimes too (stops/starts when scrolling, etc.), but I'm not sure how much of that is the DIS and how much is the fact that I'm on a 7 year old Macbook and everything is slow! :snail:

I'm so excited too! I've wanted to meet up for years! I can't believe it's gonna happen!! I'm sure the kids will have a blast together! :)
:cool1: I didn't think we'd ever cross paths with your January trips and our lack of January trips (there was one, back in 2010, but that's it). So glad things changed for you guys - December is a great time to visit anyway, but especially the same week! :jumping1:

Right?!? First thing caden said when we told him about the trip was asking to see the light up parade.

Aw, poor guy. Izzy hasn't said anything about parades, so I just haven't mentioned it. Besides, she saw Paint the Night at Disneyland, which will probably spoil all light-up parades for her forever. :rotfl:

MSEP & Wishes

After I rode Space, we needed to get over to the hub to check in for our Main Street Electrical Parade Fast Passes. I had brought along some light-up/glow toys from Target’s dollar section, so the girls enjoyed playing with those while we waited for the parade to start:

This was the view from our Fast Pass area:

Due to all of the rain, they announced the parade had been delayed. :headache: We decided this gave Lauren enough time to run over to Space and use the Rider Swap. So, she did that and the girls continued to play. Izzy got out of her stroller and was dancing around the FP area (roped off and room to roam) with her light up toys. :dance3:I think Aria sat in her stroller during that time. Here’s Lauren’s Photopass from Space:

Soon enough, she was back and the parade began:

Minnie waved at us:

The girls were both loving it:

The Fairy Godmother waved to us and blew a kiss, which was appropriate considering where we’d had dinner and all:

After the parade was done, we moved back down towards Main Street a bit and stood right behind the taped off line for the walkway:

This got us a nice view of both the projection show and the fireworks. :thumbsup2

I always enjoy the projection shows:

It’s pretty amazing what they can do with those castle projections! I’m looking forward to seeing the new show on our next trip! :cool1:

Apparently, neither of us felt inclined to take Wishes photos (we both have just a few already…:rolleyes1), so this is all we’ve got from this showing:

I believe Aria wore her earmuffs for the show, but Izzy wasn’t fazed by the noise – in fact, she was clapping for the fireworks. She’s never been bothered by them.

We headed out to the monorail right after the show:

My notes indicate that there was a very chatty girl on the monorail, named Courtney. I really can’t remember much about it now, except that I think she might have been drinking? :confused3 She must have been amusing enough in some way to make my notes. :rotfl2:

We got back to the condo and got to bed. I believe that the condo still hadn’t delivered the pack ‘n’ play, so Izzy just slept in her little Peapod tent that night, which she loves anyway.

Up next: Breakfast at Crystal Palace! pooh:

Yeah I remember something about some lady being superrrrr drunk on the monorail, now that you mention it!! And the pack n play thing was very annoying, I think Izzy ended up just sleeping in the peapod? Aria slept in my bed.

Aria will only watch fireworks if she has ear muffs. I don't know why but at least she sometimes enjoys watching them now vs. being afraid of them!

Thanks for posting the updates @Dugette!!

The queue for Pooh is a really great one - I recall last trip we practically had to drag Peter out of there to get onto the actual ride ... they did a good job with that one!

I am still bummed that we have never gotten to meet Anna and Elsa when they met together - they had already split them up before we got there when they were ate Fairtale Hall and then at Disneyland Anna was "out helping Kristoff" so we missed it there ... someday - looks like a really fun meet you had though - especially with the two girls together with them

While rainy and stuff you were getting a bit accomplished with getting on 7DMT and Space Mountain already

The angle you get for the floats and the Castle is pretty neat from the the FP area. The girls definitely seemed to be enjoying the parade. Definitely a bummer they got rid of it with nothing officially set to replace it (I read/hear different rumors but nothing definite and seems like nothing for a while) ... though I agree with you that after Paint the Night every other light up parade is sort of ruined

I'm trying to be better about commenting-- I read both of your reports religiously, but just now checking in! This trip looks like so much fun. And I love that you are doing it again! I wonder if the girls will remember each other? I love the projection shows, too-- that, and Wishes, are my favorite nighttime entertainment!

Yes Pooh and Dumbo - the lines are almost more fun than the rides! I wish A&E still meet together too, so sweet esp now that I have sisters I'd love for them to meet them together. AND bonus, we got a 3rd princess meet in there too on the same FP lol!

I *think* that we had a FP for 7DMT so when it went down it was good for the rest of the night? So I am pretty sure that helped be able to ride it plus Space, Pooh, and the parade FP.

We met up again on two days in May 2015 (so almost a year later) when our trips overlapped, and with Facebook I've shown Aria photos of Izzy, so she definitely knows who she is! She can't wait to take another trip together!!

Yes, SO excited to check out the new projection show, AND also the new Jingle Bell Jingle Bam show at DHS!

Day 2 was upon us bright and early! We got out of the condo, two toddlers in tow, and headed to the TTC! First row parking spot and hopped on the monorail! This morning we had PPO breakfast at CP, with some photopass photos to start with.

We couldn't put the girls out of misery yet, as we needed to take D-A-D photos for Father's Day coming up! (BTW I finally saw my DH's desk a few weeks ago and he has the photo we made on his desk still!)

And one more to-do before breakfast - walking to the castle photos!! I still need to figure out something creative to display all these!

Aria waited by Daisy

14859659_10100565247601421_4893514925229377036_o.jpg

Then it was our turn!

14729264_10100565247711201_6489535221594326787_n.jpg

Due to our lengthy photo taking, we missed the backup at Crystal Palace so we checked in easily. The girls enjoyed the water outside while we waited!

And snuck a peek inside

14608884_10100565248394831_8678157351812179153_o.jpg

Soon we were seated - continued in next post!

Soon we were seated at a table close to the buffet. Aria went to work eating her once-a-meal handful of salt (yes, she still does this...)

14729325_10100565248534551_1354739475028166505_n.jpg

And Piglet came by as soon as we sat down!

14724615_10100565248639341_5411426720433853126_n.jpg

Drinks came out (coffee!! plus milk and juice) and we took turns getting food. Aria had a plate of fruit and bacon

14724582_10100565248828961_5246409841622263482_n.jpg

And I went the carb route with puffed toast, pizza, croissant and breakfast lasagna <3

14721707_10100565248858901_7767845903047134520_n.jpg

Aria was a bit more excited to see Pooh and Eeyore though than to eat -

Pooh was really great, engaging the girls in peek a boo.

14600835_10100565249367881_5526096103269362163_n.jpg

But Izzy was a bit more fearful of the characters than she was before (Aria went through this at around age 10months-15months).

Eeyore stopped by next (he's Aria's favorite at CP now)

We ended breakfast shortly after 9 and headed to... It's a Small World (Maya would approve!)

Amazing how in December, they'll be the big kids playing in the climbing area while Maya plays here!

Soon enough we dragged them away to go ride! Dugette was calling it the up and down ride for Izzy

14855968_10100565256922741_745643056160594930_o.jpg

Aria loved it

14753261_10100565257067451_3924646445964679061_o.jpg

It was already getting hot out so we let the girls play for a bit in the splash area

We saw a short wait to meet Goofy and Donald so went there next. Aria was being pretty shy

14713518_910749169057464_1684744082873893511_n.jpg

And Izzy wasn't very into it either!

Aria and I headed over to ride Barnstormer afterwards, while Izzy & Dugette decided to wait for Daisy & Minnie. (Izzy didn't meet that 35" height requirement yet).

Afterwards, I texted Dugette and they were still waiting, so we figured we'd hop back over there and join in!

Izzy did much better with Daisy and Minnie, thankfully!

14753796_910749962390718_178271054245744219_o.jpg

She was really happy to meet Minnie - she's a favorite for both the girls!

Next up we had FP's for Peter Pan! I'll save you from all the blurry photos I took, but here is photographic evidence we rode:

14731217_10100565260620331_4971244186964999157_n.jpg

The carousel was a must-do so that was next on our list!

Dugette rode with Izzy

We didn't have much longer before our last FP, and then we planned to hop out to EPCOT, so we decided to go up the Treehouse!

At one point Izzy wanted to be carried around by her arms. You can sort of see her dangling in the back of this pic

Oh we had another FP as well - Speedway!! I think this was Izzy's first time on a height requirement ride!!

Aria was in the driver seat but after a few sharp turns she gave the reigns over to me, then was mad I took her pic.

Despite that, she did actually have a lot of fun! lol

Our last order of business in the MK was - Tinkerbelle!! We stopped in a bathroom for an outfit change and then headed over that way.

After a short wait we were transformed into Pixie Hollow. The girls loved the oversized play area.

Coming up next - an EPCOT afternoon!

gotta love the empty Main St for photos - lots of great shots, I love the ones with the two girls

That is the one problem with Character meals - the kids can get so excited about the coming characters that they forget / don't want to eat!

I do love the puffed French Toast!

Looks like a productive morning between attractions and meets! Looks like a really fun friend of Tink based on the pictures ... Aria does look a bit tired though

I was amazing how low the height requirement for the speedway is to just ride - even Emma made it last trip.

So adorable! They look so LITTLE-- can't wait to see pics of them as great, big girls, with Maya closer to Izzy's size. Mmmmmmm, CP breakfast. I'm not a huge fan of the puffed French toast, but that breakfast lasagne is my FAVORITE. And the potatoes--is it the cheesy ones there? Or is it a western potato dish? I can't remember, just know I carb out there!!!

Up next: Breakfast at Crystal Palace! pooh:

Izzy is so little. I'm so glad you are writing this trip report. I'm sure you are getting excited for your December trip. The girls will be able to do some new rides as they will be tall enough.
