***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I do understand why people are upset about the menu change. But for me personally, turkey and post roast are the last things I would order on any menu. I LOVE turkey, don't get me wrong, but I like to make it at home the way I like it lol. Same with pot roast. The only thing I might have ordered was the BLT sandwich but pretty much everything that would have been a contender for me is still on the menu. Vastly prefer salmon to chicken so that change on the salad doesn't bother me. and dying to try the ooey gooey toffee cake. So this is a huge score for me. I can't believe how my added day on is coming together!

We planned to have light lunches since we have to pretty much eat at TS for all meals every day due to the food allergies of the others in my family so I had planned to have the salad with the chicken being held so now I will just have the salmon held or I might do the soup instead and the OGTC for dessert.

I'm experiencing some serious planning burn out....

I'm going to leave my plans alone. There is so much to do in all the parks I'm afraid that if I over plan we won't enjoy being in the moment.
I think a couple of days not planning might give me a boost.

Our 1st set of MB shipped today for our RO night. The second set is set to ship tommorow. I'm sure once they arrive I'll be all pumped.

As for ROL I still have 2 nights of flexibility in my plans to add it.... Assuming the show is late enough....

I'm with you..lots of ts this trip for food allergies, but I don't eat much at one sitting...I am so not going to get my money's worth at GG or H&V....telling myself I'm paying for the fun...lol!

Sci fi was a HUGE hit with my guys back in the day.
we did sci fi last time and kiddo loved it! it was his request to go again.

I don't know what it is about me but I just can't get excited about QS places. Although I will say the food courts at the value resorts look pretty darn tasty and I also liked the pepper market when I went there like 15 years ago lol. But in the parks... meh. Flame tree BBQ looks good and I will have the pulled pork cheese fries. I love the QS at Morocco. The all breast nuggets are alright. But for the most part I could take it or leave it. Even if I am going to eat light I just much prefer TS and sitting down and being served and not standing in line to order and pay, to pick up food, juggling my food, keeping track of my kid, fighting for a table, cleaning it off myself as it is invariably gross from the previous people. I have no memories on my trip of "wow that was a great meal." The best I think I have is "well the food was edible and no one got killed so we'll call it a win." I'm such a whiny baby :)

We got our gift cards in the mail that we had ordered from the Disney Store online a few days ago. We don't do the dining plan so we use it to pay for meals. I buy them with my Disney Visa so I earn rewards points as well.

Nice! I used my new Target RED Card to get these, saved 5%. Figure I'll use my mb to pay for food and all that, and then pay off my balance with the gift cards. I've been using my Disney Visa for all my everyday purchases since I got it to rack up points that way. Already ordered my Rewards redemption card!

Does it show on MDE the expected ship date?

I should say ditto
ditto (almost lol mine are shipping 11/2)
ditto (I have only one night but it needs to be late enough).

I am feeling burned out on the planning and ready to go. Of course i'm not packed or anything lol

haha, I'm the same way. Very patient and tolerant, but once I reach the end of my fuse I am making things happen and getting things done, lol.

Awww, thank you! You know, I know it's important to acknowledge and accept that it's ok and healthy to be sad sometimes, and to have struggles sometimes, and to cry and be upset. I used to bottle everything up, and that very definitely negatively impacted my health and well-being. But at the same time I know I am incredibly lucky to have what I do have, and that it could always be so much worse (my mom's motto, lol). I always try to be happy about all the little things, cause life is just so much happier that way. Like right now, I'm super happy that it's sleeting out, since it's the first sign that this is going to be a real winter this year! :hyper::cold::santa: Told you I'm strange, lol.

I'm always telling my kids that we have a spectrum of emotions for a reason and they are like an instrument panel--they let us know what's going on within. All of it is good info! ;) Amen sister--the little things ARE the big things in my book! I like your mom's motto; that approach almost always puts things right back into perspective. :thumbsup2

Ok, so for those going to DS, do you guys plan what you will be doing there? I'm looking at the map and thinking I can't do it randomly... the place is too big! :faint:

I swear, I really want to be spontaneous! haha But I have just a rough plan for Disney Springs so we're not criss-cross-applesaucing (lol) all over the place. Honestly, I simply circled all the things we're interested in on a paper map. There are 3 priority stores (Disney's Days of Christmas, World of Disney and Mickey's Pantry) and a few more if they happen to work out timing wise (Pandora, Happy Hound, Design-A-Tee). Firm plans are 3:30 TREX and 6:00 Cirque du Soleil. We have our eye on visiting Santa, photopass studio, Goofy's, Ghiradelli, and entertainment too. We're excited about our time there. :santa:

And thanks for the Zootopia/Nick & Judy scoop! We watched it recently and loved it!!

Sit down...that is key...I need a break in the day, and I hate fighting for a QS table. The gluten free thing is new for me this year, and most QS gluten free option look double meh, so we have many more ts than past trips. But my disboard friends have given me such great advice...apps and salad, splitting meals, etc, I think I will be able to eat even lighter at ts than qs!

I just checked out wdw's DS page... They are calling it Christmas Tree Trail...

I have looked at the map and planned a route for my night but I could not fit in enough ice cream! :rotfl: Definitely would check out the decorations and maybe save the shops for our morning there:) definitely looking forward to the photopass studio and the Coca Cola bear!

I loved Sci-Fi. we didn't try for it think time, but wouldn't be opposed to it.
We are sticking to most QS. our only ADRs are Mama Melrose and Crystal Palace.
I have never gotten to eat to CP so I'm excited for that one. our plans are actually not as tight this time. The 3 of us have been multiple times n the past few years and know we are going back. So we can be flexible. With that, next year's trip is a big ones and my DDS first trip. So crazy planner will be in full force

Take a little break :yay: we will be here to let you know when there's news ;)

I hear ya! I may actually be leaning more towards slow down. I feel I need/want way more time before our trip. o_O

Just have to chime in here- a reply to this comment! I convinced (kinda demanded) that DH and I take this trip to WDW, to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary. A 2 week trip-11/28-12/11! Started planning this trip a year ago.

I have committed to paying for things OOP, he never would have considered- and I am doing all of the planning, ADR's (only places and foods he will enjoy), fast passes, found our offsite accommodations, etc.

Now, 32 days out, I am so burned out on this whole process, and I haven't even been able to schedule our fast passes yet! It occurred to me this week, that I have been planning and dreaming for so long now, and this trip will be here, and gone, in the blink of an eye. Of course when we return home, it will be the Christmas season. But I imagine, I will be going through "Disney Withdrawal"

How do you all deal with this? Don't feel confident enough to do a solo trip.. and hope to go back again with DH, but who knows...

I have news for you.. no one gets their money's worth at those places! I guess some people can but they are SO expensive for relatively inexpensive foods, you are definitely paying for the entertainment!
