Wearing a sundress to the parks - any issues you've come across?

I wore dresses 4/6 days last week with no shorts and had no issues. My thighs touch but it wasn't a huge deal. I was conscious of myself getting in and out of rides and an fairly certain no one got a show. There was a dress I wore the had the tendancy to blow up with the wind so I had to be a little careful with that one afternoon.

Not really, but I wear dresses almost exclusively in the summer, so I don't really think about it. I do have a couple of cute skorts though that I may bring.

I have seen a few women accidentally expose their unmentionables while boarding rides, walking up inclined queues or steps etc. in the past. It discouraged me from wearing dresses or skirts so I wear golf skorts or the like. The length you describe should help a lot but may not completely keep you from revealing your panties.
I still don't get how this is common. I wear skirts non-stop in all sorts of situations and have no issues with exposing my underwear....

I wear skirts/dresses at lot at DL and WDW (on a hot day, if a long skirt gets wet on a ride, then you're walking around with your own air conditioning and it feels great). Only time I had an issue was on the swings ride at DCA (blanking on the name). I like to hold my arms out to the sides and tilt my head back so I'm "flying" and I was thinking, "You know, it seems a lot breezier than usual." Sure enough, I realized that my skirt had been blown back and hastily adjusted it, much to the amusement of my BFF, who was in the swing behind me and had seen the whole thing. It wasn't a big deal.

I almost exclusively wear sundresses at Disney and always pair with the Target line of Jockey skimmies. They feel so soft and cool and make me feel more relaxed knowing I won't inadvertently expose myself.

Tower of Terror may give you some problems with all the drops/air time. I had an issue with is once while in a flowy dress

What kind of shoes do y'all wear with dresses? I've always thought I'd be miserable in anything other than sneakers.

A good pair of sandals... what those are to you will be different than others. Teva's, Merrell's, etc... You do have to walk in some to figure out which will work for you, but there are some with pretty good support. The straps are what I have to watch as far as blisters, but I use something like body glide or stick deodorant on my toes/feet, and usually don't have a big problem. I even got away with wearing Teva flip flops all day one day.

I wear flat sandals and am always happy in them.

I almost exclusively wear dresses in summer too and have no chafing issues, and don't think I've ever shown anything - although I did have an issue at a waterpark once. I wear hipster/boy short full coverage undies should anything be exposed, it won't really.

Sundresses, sandals and a wide brimmed hat is the coolest outfit ever and that makes WDW a lot more pleasant. I'm rarely super hot, but I do retreat to my resort in the heat/crowds of the day.

The Target slipshorts are the way to go. They're lightweight and cool, but keep you modest and help prevent chafing. Love mine for sundresses.

Birkenstocks...I have the Gizeh and the Mayaris. I also have Olukai Ohana flip flops. The Birks must be broken in, (and I find those two styles more feminine than regular Arizonas) but I've worn all of the above at Disney and been super comfortable.

I have quite a few cute, lightweight dresses for the summer that I've purchased for work.
We are going to Disney at the end of October and I figure (unless there is a freak cold spell, god forbid) that it will be warm enough in the day to wear them.

I do not like to wear shorts under my dresses - defeats the purpose of feeling cool. They are all 2-3 inches above my knee, mostly fit/flare types but I can grab them in a big wind! Used to doing that.

Any rides you can foresee being problems with flashing? :o
I am careful when getting in and out of cars, etc. so I'm not worried about that.

Thanks!
I always wear dresses. Sometimes I just wear a slip on a windy day in case the wind catches me while I'm stuffing my face with food and walking. That way the slip only shows. Haha

I bought Jockey "skimmies" slip shorts and they are a lifesaver! I have a problem with thigh rub, and these are super lightweight, moisture wicking, and just perfect under a dress. I actually ended up wearing them under regular shorts as well for the moisture wicking and didn't have any issues with the thin material feeling bulky
Ok I tried these....and I have issues with them riding up my legs over the day..... UGH! I want to like them, b/c I like the security, but they just don't work for me..... are compression shorts better at staying put all day? I like how comfortable they are, but the ride up is just too much

I wear boy short style underwear under my sundresses. I also could not care less if someone accidentally saw my underwear.

That's what I'm worried about!
