I love credit cards so much!

And I just spent another 30 mins on the phone with Disney. They do not recognize the vendor conf number. Not sure what else to do. The guy from Chase said the reservation would show up in Disney's system 24-36 hours before check-in. That ain't gonna work :(
Ugh. Supervisor? HUCA? Up the food chain until someone gets it right.

Should I be concerned that my SW cards have not shown up online on my Chase account page? I was approved for both cards over a week ago.

Did you just book it? I know booking through Orbitz at Disneyland it took 3-5 days to get populated in Disney's system. (And I agree 100% that 24-36 hours before check-in is not ok! I think there is definitely room to HUCA Chase on that and find out if a new customer service rep gives you the same line but to my limited knowledge they can't force the reservation to populate in Disney's system.)

My head was about to explode earlier and I needed a break from this but I am about to call Disney back now. My aunt booked a package through UR and she said none of the Chase numbers worked but Disney was able to look up her reservation by name, phone and address. Hopefully I will have good news when I post back.

I booked on Friday morning. I am going to try Disney once more. If no luck, I will give it a couple of days. Just stressing about making FP+ selections. Our 60 days is in about 5 or 6 days.

Heavens, you'd think they have some record. Their system has to have it so they don't overbook. Imagine none of the rooms booked outside Disney's system not showing up until 24 hrs before. They would be way overbooked. Your reservation is there somewhere. Fingers crossed for you.

The CM tried to look it up a hundred different ways but nothing came up. I am done for today and will begin anew tomorrow. What a major pain.

Fingers crossed you get it sorted out. Sounds like a major headache.

maybe it takes time...

Once you’ve booked, you’ll get an email from Chase that includes your hotel confirmation number. Be sure to use that number to link your stay to your “My Disney Experience” account at Disneyworld.com.

When I booked a night through CUR, I waited a few days and called Chase and she connected me to some sort of travel specialist who got my MDE confirmation number for me.

New to this whole credit card game (sorry you guys probably see this same post posted all the time!), but I have zero idea how many "points" an airline ticket usually costs, so I have no idea what's a good deal to apply for. We usually only ever fly from Boston to Orlando, but I know it probably depends on the time of year, etc. Is there like a base points offer I should be looking for before I even consider it?

Oh boy- please post back with your results! I'm going to have to do this too and I would love more input on the process.

PSA - if/when you cancel cards, make sure there is sufficient time (1-2 wks?) for the card to show closed ON YOUR CREDIT REPORT before you apply for the same card again. While an account may show closed immediately on Chase's page, they look at the credit report to see what you have open, and may not issue the same card again.

This happened when I closed an old SW card and tried to open a new one very shortly after. It was denied because the credit report still reflected the old card.

What airline do you normally fly? Right now Southwest has two card offers for 60000 miles which has been their best offer. You could get their two personal cards and have 120000 miles. This will give you a companion pass for all of 2018, meaning someone can fly with you for free. For Southwest you can check how many miles you need for the flight on their website.

Exactly as @speedyfishy says! A good starting place is with what airlines you would normally fly and look into their credit card offers. Do you travel during holidays? If so realize it can be harder to redeem legacy-airline miles that time of year. IF there is availability it will be very expensive in miles, just as in cash. What you should do is go to the airline you're interested in flying, type in the dates you'd be looking at, and see how many miles it would cost you to get rough ideas.

If you fly various airlines, or don't want to be locked into one, Chase is easiest for me to work with. The Sapphire Preferred allows you to redeem your points for $0.0125 each instead of $0.01 (what they're worth if you just transfer the points out in cash) when you book through their travel portal. I've found flights to be priced the same there as on other websites (some people have found price differences, always double check) so the extra redemption value is nice. Chase Sapphire Reserve will give you $0.015 redemption value per point for booking through their travel site and paying with your points. (There is a lot more involved with that card, it really depends on how much research/work you want to do with your new credit card. I've loved it, but some people find it's a lot to bite off if this is your first travel focused credit card.) Sometimes booking straight through Chase is the best deal, sometimes utilizing the transfer points to Chase Miles Partners is the best deal. At that point you need to check availability for the flights you want before deciding if you'll transfer points or not.

Barclaycard and American Express round out the top travel card issuers imho. I don't have much experience there so I'll leave an overview of those 2 to others :)

Well I'm at 4/24 and gave CSP a shot, was gonna follow up with Freedom but I got the 30 day message. Not gonna try to sneak a 6th card in as CSP is by far my priority. Ugh, 30 day Chase circus again...

Hanging out in 30-day limbo land too ;) I was going to try to sneak both of the SW cards by applying at the same time but after getting the 30-day blah, blah, blah after the first app, I just decided to try for the one.

So, while my test mortgage payment to Plastiq using my CIP earned 3x, my full mortgage payment only earned 1x :(

If you get the 30-day message, try calling into the automated line. We did that just 10 minutes after the app was submitted and the status was already listed as "2 weeks" by the automated system, which is usually approved. That's when we went ahead and applied for a second same day. Called recon after the second got the 30-day message and had no issues other than moving around CL.
