I love credit cards so much!

At DAL waiting to catch our final flight home, I can’t believe I have 70 pages to catch up on after being away for 7 days. Did I miss anything big?

We had a wonderful time at WDW. Lots of rain all week but the crowds were low.

Amex increased signup offers on their no fee personal and biz cards:

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/hilton-honors-american-express-business-card-125000-point-offer/

So happy you had a wonderful time at WDW!

Can you combine UR points with someone who doesn’t share your address or do they have to live with you? My parents might come with us to WDW in 2020 and I’m going to encourage them to get a card (or two or three). Would love to be able to combine and book all together. Is that possible or would they need to book their own package on URs?

No. But would they be willing to “move in” with you, even for a month?

@KPK02090 if They get more than one bonus, they could combine them on one of their accounts then “move in”with you. My mom signed up for SPG Amex for the express purpose of giving me the points. After she earned them, she changed her address to mine then waited, I think 30 days. Then she transferred them to me. After a while, changed back to her address

For 2 night, I’d do regular Uber and Swan, unless you don’t plan on Epcot or HS. If both days will be MK, I’d check URs for a monorail resort.

Thx. It is MK DAH event and an AK day with some pool time built in. We may add another Park day as our flight out would be late, but it depends on the teens having money for another Park day. I’m covering the hotel, but they have to buy flights and tickets. I am covering my own kid of course. Ha. Luckily they just graduated so both got grad money. They just need to add it up and decide how much they want to spend. So swan isn’t exactly convenient to either Park we are planning at this moment, but with no little kids it would be fine I think.

I did overhear someone say “They want me to use my personal credit card to charge travel expenses and later reimburse, that’s crazy.” Oh how I wish!

Also, for those of you that pay for one early-bird check-in and save seats, I just witness that backfire. A lady was saving a seat for her husband and another lady said you can’t save seats, the lady saving the seat was trying to block the seat but the other lady pushed her way to the window seat and sat down. Pretty funny.

Seems like a good time period to plan for wdw trips next year.

My DH charges all work travel and other expenses to personal and gets reimbursed. And yes, it is def awesome!

I’m glad the lady did that. The seat savers drive me crazy!

Idk about 24 hours, me too! 60 days stops beg of June I think. Although the phone agent told me there was a $125 change fee on my ticket and I had to tell her that’s not effect yet. Put me on hold, came back and said that doesn’t start until Jun so be careful if you have to call AS to do this sort of thing (2nd time I’ve encountered a surprising level of incompetence from AS phone agents, AS is good at many things but their phone agents have tried to tag me with unnecessary fees both times I’ve called for something over the last year.)

Ok good to know! I won’t be booking AS flights until we are ready for hawaii, so I will keep watching for DPs on the 24 hour thing.

Back to the business card thing. So at first DH is like "yeah, we aren't going to do that," but then as I read him the comments here, he was like "who cares?' In other words, go for it LOL. But I do have a question. A couple of you commented that there is less consumer protection on a business card. Can you please elaborate?

Business credit cards are not covered by the Credit CARD Act of 2009, which included numerous new consumer protections in the aftermath of the financial crisis.

Oohhh are you staying there for a day or so? That would be a great stopover!

No stopover, didn't have the vacation to do it this trip.

Watched the parade, their dragon still isn't breathing fire but it's shooting smoke out its nose which was just as good. Ratatoullie was awesome, used our club level fp for today and made it our first right. Going to do 1 or 2 more before checking out Disney village and going to bed. We're both tired from lack of sleep. Low to mid 70s this week has be happy too.

You don’t need to wait on DH to call. Just go into his Chase account and send requests via SM to lower CLs for each card you want.

@disneymagicgirl - I just did this and it was so easy. Just sent a secure message and said lower my xxxx card to 5K from 25K. They did it in about 2 hours and sent messages via email to let me know to go check my messages on the Chase website. I had a similar situation to your husband - way too much of my credit line sitting in the sock drawer.

DP: My 15 elite nights from my Marriott personal card were credited sometime in the past two days; card anniversary was two days ago.

My card anniversary is December 25th. Are the elite nights going away for the old card? Or will I get them in December for 2019...or how exactly does this work if I decide to focus on Marriott starting 2019?

I have not upgraded my card and don't intend to until after my free night hits. I have a use for the free night as a category 2 if nothing else falls out and just that will save me almost $100 for the night after my $85 fee, so no present need to upgrade. Then, upgrade as soon as my night is in my account should keep me on track for my free night coming each year at the same time.

I got a money order at Walmart without any problems today with a VGC. No one threatened to shoot me either. Ever since the whole rumor that Walmart was stopping VGC’s I haven’t had the chance to go. I’m done with school now so I hope I can still max the Discover grocery category on SO’s card.

Thanks for this data point! I used to get quite a few money orders at Walmart and Meijer using VGC but haven't in a few years.

What's the fee for $1000 MO at Walmart now? Can you still purchase $1000 using 2 $500 VGC (well slightly less than $1000 to account for the fee)?

What brand VGC did you use for the MO purchase? Thanks so much. It was a pretty decent way for me to get UR back in the day.

i think its $.80 now. yes, you can do 2 $500. if you want to test your luck, the register does allow up to 4 swipes, so ur max amount for MO is $2000.
Meta, Sunrise, USB(i think).

good place to buy VGCs are Simons mall. lowest fees.

do u think adding AU would get around the household requirement?

I don't know. Maybe. If the SPG account that the points drop into was the OP's as opposed to her card holder's. No, I don't think so. I have an AU on my amex and she has no interaction with my points.

Oh my goodness, finally caught up after reading all weekend long! Just joined the Reddit group as well, so will be doing some major reading again!

So I'm 1/24 (if my CIP from 3/18 counts, does it?) and looking to wait a few months before doing the CSR/CSP double dip around July as recommended. I'm focusing on bank bonuses and moving some money into the higher yield savings accounts (Mango just closed my 2 accounts so will have $10K that needs to find a liquid yet high yield home).

I did noticed that on my Chase online account my CSP that was closed over 2 years ago is still showing on my online account. It's not active, but will this give me any issues when I apply? Should I SM or call to have it removed? It is showing on my credit report as closed.

So there's the Amex BB+ 20k offer, the new Amex Hilton biz offer, are there any other Amex biz I should be looking at to apply for next (while I wait for things to cool down a bit for Chase)? If I've read correctly, Amex Bix WILL NOT count against 5/24?

Also, what are the Chase shut downs that folks have mentioned? Usually referenced as not moving too fast or openning too many cards with Chase. Any pointers or articles I should read regarding that?
