New IP that is being created out of nothing. A vast majority of what we consider to be "Disney" is not a remake but a completely new movie that we have not heard of before.

I’m someone that has a hard time accepting Marvel and Star Wars under the Disney umbrella. They’re just not Disney to me.

But I’m fine ignoring them and am anticipating that the “pure Disney” stuff on the service will make that easy enough. I would probably be hyped up for this service without any Disney+ exclusive content, and just access to their extensive library.

As a Star Wars/Marvel fan there is hype. That being said if I think as just a simple Disney fan there is zero hype from today. There is zero animation options on Disney Plus being released.

Disney from my view is known for their kids animated movies and shows. There was not even a hint of anything today that I caught.
As for pure Disney I am very excited for the WDI series. There is also some new Pixar stuff and a new animated shorts series where animators get to show off their talents in various ways.

Ya I guess it might be because I already own all their movies as I bought the digital codes over time.

It just seems like a 1000% miss as they are not targeting the younger generation at all with the service except for the historical content.

Like what? I have not hear or seen anything about that? That is the stuff I would be excited about!

So as a Disney fan what has you hyped? Not a Star Wars or Marvel fan but a Disney fan and yes they are separate groups otherwise I guess Simpsons are viewed as "Disney" announcement now.
I'm curious why it bothers you so much. Honestly, you're a Disney Fan because you enjoy things that the DISNEY company makes/produces. It doesn't matter if its Pixar, Marvel, the Walt Disney animation studio, Fox, Blue Sky studios or Marvel.

Because 10 years ago I got Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Fox, and Lucas Arts all producing great content. These days it seems Disney will drop $200m in Star Wars, $100m in Marvel, and $1m in Disney animation.

I just look at all the money they are investing and get sad more isnt going to Pixar and the animation studios.

I guess where Disney+ is concerned I wasn’t really expecting much exclusive Disney animation or Pixar content, as IMO it gives it that lesser straight to video feel.

There were lots of family oriented shows and movies, though not much of it animated. The Forky shorts, the Phineus and Ferb movie, and the marvel What If I think we're the only animated stuff. 4-5 family movies were announced though.

Fingers crossed that its actually good family/kid content and there is more unannounced stuff.

I just need to not get down because I was expecting Disney Plus to be a huge disappointment. They are playing in to the group who consumers who they can steal money from. I think my bigger issue is that D23 has really all been D+ so far when it comes to official announcements. There is all the parks information still coming and nothing on theatre releases.

I think the "secret project" has set a largely negative mood to D23 in general for me. Its a cool idea but not anything I would even expect them to announce before it was just released.

I am here for the new Muppets shorts that have been announced for Disney Plus. While The Dark Crystal on the other service is a definite must watch - to have actual Muppet content on Disney Plus is a big win for me.

If they bring back The Jim Henson Hour, original Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock and the Wonderful World of Disney original episodes - I will go into a cave of hibernation furnished by Disney.

You know, I’m pretty meh on the park announcements and bracing myself for Sunday to see how different Epcot will be...

But WOW am I ever excited for Disney+. I can’t remember the last time I looked at something Disney did and thought wow, they are absolutely hitting this one out of the park. And at an affordable price point too. This is all a trap, isn’t it? They’re roping us all in lol.

And I’m way more excited than anyone has the right to be for Lizzie McGuire. Epcot who??

To be fair Netflix have the best TV shows out there now and they don’t put their price up constantly. We watch 2-3 fantastic shows a month on Netflix and the movies too. When we pay £40/$50 a month for our standard cable over here things like Netflix and this new Disney+ are a bargain.

I was like that at first. Will admit I’m now a massive latecomer Star Wars fan but don’t care for Marvel. I just ignore that stuff. Doesn’t annoy me as much as IP going everywhere in the parks. OK, I will stop bringing that up now :)

Seeing the Simpsons meet and greet did jar with me a little. And they are cool but was just weird.

Same here! Hate that they have neglected the Muppets for so long. The Muppets courtyard and Muppetvision need some care and attention. The show they did on ABC was great, again just needed some polishing. I still think there’s so much room for Muppets to be moulded for a new generation.

What have they done to gorgeous Lady? That trailer is awful. Stop with the remakes!

Really hoping they announce the UK’s launch date for Disney+ soon, otherwise I am going to have hibernate. Can’t understand why a major country isn’t getting it at release date.

Also, I think as a Pure Disney fan one of the things I’m really excited for is the new HSM show. When the news broke last year I couldn’t help but cringe, but the trailer actually looks quite sweet! An interesting premise that boosts new life into a proper Disney classic (well at least a Disney channel classic!)

Me: I’m not sure I want another streaming service.

Disney: Ours has our entire film library. New documentaries. New Marvel and Star Wars shows. Plus a show where Jeff Goldblum explores things. And it’s for $6.99.

So for those interested in Disney Plus - they announced D23 members can sign up for $140.97 for 3 years (23 dollars off per year). We signed up at the Expo, but you DON'T have to be at the EXPO. And some people were saying that you can sign up for the FREE D23 and still get the Discounted rate. (Though I do not know for sure if this is true - but what I heard.)

We have Stagepass for Movies tomorrow and Parks on Sunday - so I'll keep posting updates if I can - they were allowing photos but no videos at Disney+. Posted some photos on my instagram - Skierpete23 - if anyone wants to follow along. Don't typically have great seats though with stagepass since Gold queue gets in first.

Does anyone know how or where to sign up for it? I can't find it anywhere.
