All the rooms are refurbished and have queen beds. A fixed bed with room for bags under it and a Murphy bed that acts as you table when your not using it. By all accounts both are the same type of beds and comfortable. Just do a google search for POP Century room refurbishment and I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with what you see.
As far as 5 adults in 2 rooms go, as long as some of you don’t mind sharing a bed, you should be fine. I’d definitely ask to be located on the same floor and depending on how close you all are, possibly ask for connecting rooms. If you have 2 couples sharing beds you can always keep one bed up which will give you a table and more walking space. That’s what we plan on doing this summer.
We’re also go as a family of 5 with 3 adults and 2 kids. We were fine with our room, although it wasn‘t a refurbished one in 2017 and looking forward to the new rooms in June. I really wish Disney did a better job offering suites that fit odd numbers of adults like us though. That said it works out to my advantage, because my brother hates the idea of his family of 4 sharing a room for a week, so I always get invited and it gives him an excuse to get 2 rooms. WIN WIN for all of us but mostly for me.
