August 2020 Reservations-still going?

I cancelled my Aug. 31 thru sept. 5 this a.m. I pulled off that bandaid. It was fine. until i just logged back in and realized I should cancel the park passes. that's when i felt it, the sadness of it all. ugh. each park pass, one by one to cancel. select all. cancel. each day. one by one. At least I got my deposit back on the hotel and said goodbye to my discount but when I had to do the passes, that was when it was difficult for me.
then i went to book 2021 to make me feel better. i tried march and dates were incredibly high so i didn't book. did anyone here modify or rebook for 2021 and what is your opinions on pricing of hotels?
I haven't done it yet. I worked so hard to make those Park Passes and new ADR's. I have booked and cancelled 4 trips and only one did Disney cancel it all for me. I am DREADING cancelling each piece one and at time.

As of now, we are still planning to go. We have fabric masks for the parks, but decided that we will use the KN95 (no valve) for the flights and airport, just to be extra cautious.

We've had to postpone this trip several times, so I'm really starting to get excited!! Just over two weeks to go!!

We're also using the KN95s for the flight plus a shield just in case. My wife has also informed us all that we're having a big breakfast and drinking lots of water AT HOME before the flight as there will be no removing of masks or shields on the plane for any reason. The flight is around two and a half hours so shouldn't be a big deal.

Why are people canceling their August plans now? Was new info released?

I know many people have issues being able to do the required quarantines when returning from Florida in their home states, due to work/school etc. That seems to be one of the most prevalent reasons recently. I know the guidelines in my state continue to change almost daily for out of state travel, but in our case we can reasonably do the 2 week "recommended" quarantine with our schedules.

i've asked this in other threads but i don't know if anyone knows some more information, i'm from PA but will be flying from NJ for my trip in about a month, do you know what happens when we arrive in MCO?
if i need to show my PA ID i obviously will but idk if that would change anything.
unsure with those coming from the tri-state area actually have to do

we are already going to quarantine upon return--not mandatory in PA--but we will.

Good plan. We also used N95s and felt a lot safer. Surgical masks are great as well but I figure, like you, it just can't hurt to take the extra precaution.

So we decided to just go. I tested negative for antibodies, but figured that the Southwest-WDW bubble was safer than braving mask-lax supermarkets here in San Joaquin County (which is the new Norcal hotspot). When we ventured out to Big Trees SP over the weekend, the bad mask etiquette made us go "Eff it!"

Recently, started to let thoughts of cancelation creep in. It is what it is, but 4 flight cancelations/moves by several days, 3 WDW resort changes, 1 UO complete change of dates to realign with new flights, and rebooking cars, I got tired LOL. I'm a go with the flow vacation loose planner, but WDW has reconditioned my travel planning style over the last 2 years 😅

When we got the news of the extended WDW resort closures this week I asked DH what he wanted to do. If he still wanted to go, I'd get on the phone to get us moved again or I could cancel. DH was like, "Let's go."

Got new resort, ADRs rebooked, and I found a rental car for $40 cheaper. JB extended its empty seat policy too. I guess time to start thinking about packing!

All of us have the ability to quarantine when we come back.
Andddd as I'm typing, Magic Bands just arrived. Two days early even. Feels a little more real now :)

We have stuck with our plans to keep our trip, and we arrive on Saturday. Along with a possible hurricane. Because, of course.
Isn't that the kicker! I am trying not to get too worked up about it, I know a lot can change with storms until the weekend. At the very least, I hope it is fast moving if it hits. I was there for a Tropical Storm that stalled over the area for like 3 days back in the late 2000's, and it was a blast :(

We made the decision to cancel a month or 2 ago, but I just did the actual cancellation today. If it was just DH and I, we'd go, but we have three kids at home.
We are in Michigan and will be traveling north to the upper peninsula to do a much more nature-oriented trip.

Hi hopefully will be just a small tropical depression and not impact your trip much. We were down there a few years ago with one - it didn't impact our trip much & cooled some of the humidity. Good luck & keep us posted.

Absolutely nothing the airports ceased collecting any info at the end of June. Despite the EO still being in effect thru September 5th

I really want to go but a part of me knows we won't be sure until the day before. I keep worrying--what if one of us gets a fever (whether covid or something else)? That would make the trip literally impossible. We can't perfectly quarantine right now because we are watching a son of a friend at our house during the day. Plus grocery store trips here are a nightmare with hardly anyone wearing masks despite being in a "Red" state per the CDC. I hope we can go, but there's always a risk we'll have to cancel last minute. Argh.

A week out here and have finally found a plan that makes us feel comfortable enough to go. Our son’s school start was pushed back even further so he’ll be no threat to other students whatsoever. The Walgreens right near us does drive thru testing so we’ll be quarantining upon return (we already WFH full time) and testing somewhere between 5-7 days upon return. We are one night at Boardwalk and four nights at Swan. Three days in the park and two by the pool. Finally excited and looking forward to a much needed getaway!

We did a northern Michigan trip about three weeks ago and word to the wise - avoid Mackinaw island. We went on a Tuesday and it was all packed ferries and shoulder to shoulder down the main street. We had no idea and felt extremely uncomfortable! Otherwise that area is just so gorgeous, have a great time :)
