Monorail may be inspected by DOT if new bill gets passed

The monorail in Disneyland doesn't even have AC and just shuts down if it's too hot.

That's really not that bad because the weather tends to be cooler. And as has been noted, they've got windows. Also a much shorter route that isn't necessarily a practical mode of transportation. The design is also Disney's while the WDW design was from Bombardier where the same vehicles (or evolutionary models) were sold to other entities. For example, Bombardier made the ride vehicles on the Las Vegas Monorail, although those have no onboard operators and are operated remotely.

Tokyo Disney Resort has the best Disney monorails. I'd like to see them upgrade to a similar system for WDW!

What you have said here is objectively true. Here's proof:

And I still just can't understand why the state of Florida would want to damage Disney's business - they benefit greatly from it too! They may as well just hang up a CLOSED sign at the Florida border. The insanity is mind-boggling.
So True! I can't figure out for the life of me why they are messing with the monorail system...

However, the TDR monorail actually costs money to ride. I believe it's included in a hotel stay or maybe theme park tickets. But either way, you pay to ride. It has to do with the way Japan or Tokyo legislates public transportation.

It's very cheap, though, and Disney could cover the costs for WDW guests. Also, it's totally worth it.

I thought WDW tried to purchase new monorail trains years ago, but the new trains were too wide for the Contemporary.

That is adorable!
Sadly, they couldn't do that here. It'd be broken/defaced in a matter of days. So many people here in the US have zero respect for others property.

No, thats true. Even the regular subways in Japan are spotless and well-cared for. They ahve window shades and upholstered seats - and nobody tears them up or throws garbage all over them. Disney kind of takes that to a ridiculous level. When I was riding that beautiful monorail around Tokyo Bay, there was an attendant walking up and down the train cleaning the windows. I'm not sure they were even dirty, but she was cleaning them!

Couldn't Disney just manufacture their own or was that never a thing?

I guess they could have but chose not to do so. My understanding is that the current equipment was made by Bombardier over 30 years ago and has been overhauled several times.

Disneyland has rebuilt their cars for decades and gotten new bodies every now and then when the old ones were too old. But it was always a WDI design with manufacturing/rebuilding by a contractor or in-house.
