I've ended up listing most things at buy it now so most of the time I'm happy to get rid of something if someone comes and offers something less. This 50% person is unusual from my previous experience, but I don't do a bunch of Ebay selling overall.

Ah, that makes sense with Buy It Now. I found it odd that someone once offered me say $10 for something that the starting bid was say $5. Like, just bid $5!! Haha I usually only put up things I know have gone for a fair amount, otherwise I just donate and forget all the hassle.

Thanks - linked this on the NEWS thread (with appropriate credit to YOU of course) :)

You could withhold credit for holding out on you guys so long. I never posted them because I thought they were the same but I got them out to double check when @elgerber asked and when I checked against your link there realized I was wrong. Not sure if it rises to a shunnable offense but at least giving credit to anonymous instead might be the slap on the wrist I need :P

Another day, another weird Best Buy trip. No old man this time, but “nice dress” guy was back :sad2: The cashier laughed when he scanned my code and said “is that really called Swagbucks?” I just said it was free money and left it at that lol. Another $100 Disney GC for me.

Oh today was my turn for the "establish your Chase Business login" fun! Here's a quick plug for HUCA...if you get a rep who sounds confused...just move on and try again. I spent about 10 minutes with the first rep and she was having fits understanding what I wanted. I called back and the next guy had me setup within a minute and connected to the specialist who can merge the accounts 30 seconds after that.

Oh and an in actual exciting news - I hold in my hands a CIP card in my own name! My sub-5/24 journey is finally complete!! :D

It’s been a long time since anybody told me to smile, but that’s one that sends me into a blind rage. Also I have a framed quote in my office next to my portrait of RBG that says “Don’t call me sugar.”
You could go with this line:

Def lots of ways to cushion the Disney cost. We did the Swan last time and used Marriott points. Might be something to consider also. Is the your first time at Universal? We went for 3 nights in February at RPR and didn’t do club level. I don’t think you’d get as much use from it your first visit since you’ll prob be in the parks a ton unless your planning more than 5 days and not hitting Disney. We are planning club level for visit #2 this fall

This will be our second trip there. I want to do a split stay again with Disney, but DH hates split stays. He just wants to hit Disney for the new stuff. I think the kids will miss Disney though. They loved both parks.

This is really a personal decision. I honestly might just use their official payment service and pay the 2.95% vs dealing with Plastiq and hoping the check arrives in time and such. Plastiq works well (don't get me wrong) but for ~$15 I might just not sweat it and use their portal vs. plastiq.

@kandb I am not sure I would pay taxes with Plastiq unless you have plenty of time. I paid our personal taxes on 4/11 with delivery on 4/15. As of 4/22, our taxes have still not posted to the eftps portal. I have reached out to Plastiq but all they can tell me if the info that I can see on the payment portal. Not looking forward to paying a penalty.

I would like to get a CIP, since I just finished my 5K on my Bonvoy. DH got a bonvoy and still needs to put another $4500 on it and has a CIP that he needs another $1,500 to get to MSR. If I get a CIP, my taxes are due for $3K on 5/1 (have 10 days to pay) but if I pay with cc, there is a 2.95% service fee but will be only $90. I see people mentioning plastiq here but don't think $90 is that bad to charge $3K. Am I correct or should I look into plastiq?
Also...if you want to get that CIP for a May 1st charge, I'd apply immediately. If they expedite it, great. If they don't expedite, you still might get card by Monday next week but probably only if you apply and are approved today. Also, there's the risk you go pending for a week here too...

I've done both ways, last Thanksgiving we just stayed at Universal the whole time and drove to Disney 3 days with our rental car. We had 2 adult kids with us so we didn't really get there for rope drop. We don't mind driving and have stayed offsite for Disney trips several times.

Was it easier to just commute daily than deal with packing your stuff and moving to a different resort?

Don’t you love it when guys tell you to smile too? Sweetie is also a favorite of mine.

Ugh that is the worst! I will smile when I want to, I'm not walking around with a smile on my face for no reason. No I don't care if you or anyone thinks I have RBF cause it's just my face looking normal. Also don't tell me I look nicer/better when I smile because that's the case for pretty much everyone.

If I liked the grinch I'd get the shirt that says resting grinch face.

And then there’s some of us on this thread in love with Disney on-site split stays because I don’t want to be riding buses OR driving at all on most park days HAHA! I don’t want the word “commute” anywhere near my Disney trip LOL!

Yes, I find it easier to pack my stuff than to ride a bus a few times :rotfl2:

It did change recently and it's retroactive. I applied in early September before the change but am still subject to it.

There's recent report from DoC of a reader who received the bonus before the new language was introduced, applied for a new account after the language was added but received the bonus anyway even though they should have been ineligible. (https://www.doctorofcredit.com/new-chase-checking-savings-bonus-restrictions-once-every-two-years/)

I suspect this is similar to the CIPpy cup phenomenon and who knows how long it'll last (or how reliable it is at the moment, very few DP's out there)

EDIT: Disregard! I started reading the comments in that post and it seems Chase jumped on the pop up bandwagon and will shoot you down if ineligible now. At least it's good to get warning before applying. But wish DoC had updated their update.

Maybe. Depends on your family also and how much they spread out in a room. We had 2 rooms so it might have been a pain, and then added a third room after we had finished the Disney days and added son-in-law and other DD's boyfriend to our group. Universal gives a bigger discount for longer stays and I was happy with my rate over Thanksgiving week. Sometimes when I am solo or it is just DH and I we have moved. We did 3 nights at Universal a few years ago and then switched to a Springhill Suites near Seaworld to do Discovery Cove and Seaworld. Our last stay in February was offsite also and we drove to Disney and Universal instead of moving (Marriott gives a free 5th night if you are booking with points so we stayed put)

Personally I am over on-site Disney stays, never liked their transportation anyway, but do love to stay onsite at Universal, so I have that bias. I have been doing split stays within Universal more (few days at a deluxe then move to Cabana Bay).

A few years ago, I decided that every time a man told me to smile, I would respond with my best imitation of this.

I only got to execute my plan twice before I moved to a place where that does not happen. But, both of those encounters ended with the "gentleman" in question laughing awkwardly, probably thinking I was crazy & leaving me alone. Success

 I LOVE onsite split stays. Dh and I want to try every Disney resort so we do at least 2 each trip.
